The most powerful entities the Ghostbusters face are not, ironically, ghosts. The most powerful beings are demons. followed by those of the fairy class, elves and goblins. Normally, when there is a group of ghosts anchored to a certain specific place, a demonic portal generally appears due to thier pain.

The animation can be crude at times, they were on a budget. Boogie man’s design is cartoonish, yet he also looks like something a child’s imagination would conjure. And the voice acting nailed it, “That wasn’t nice…not nice at all!”

Guess so. In "The Boogieman is Back!" , Egon designs something that looks like a different proton gun, but it's to turn the villain into a ghost (guess he's more like a demon or something )I think the villain comes back AGAIN in a Ghostbusters comic book. Maybe they should've had him as the arch enemy of the team. Man I would have loved to see what he would've looked like in the Ghostbusters Afterlife film. He probably would've looked even creepier!

The first season voice acting and the characters were so much better as well as the writing. Peter telling the kids about their usual fee, but then indulging them as well as asking for night time snacks for them show that Peter as well as the other guys had a great heart, especially for kids.

The Boogie Man episode is THE episode that I remember from my childhood. I have no idea why. Also? I'm black and I'd completely forgotten that the children he was terrorizing were too. My sister and I slept in the same bedroom together too, only as the brother I was the older one. The only thing I remember is how cool Egon was. He seemed to have all the insight into what the creature was and how to deal with it. I also thought it was really awesome that it was not a ghost, but as scientists they still made educated guesses at the best possible approach.

That episode was AWESOME! I love how they portrayed the Bogeyman as a demonic creature that resides in another dimension that resembles an M.C Escher artwork and the way it resembles a demon similar to the child-feasting creature Lamia! It also reminds me of the Roblox horror game "Doors" and the Insidious trilogy, with the way the Bogeyman resembles the Red-Faced Demon and his home realm being quite similarly described and portrayed as The Further realm where the former resides. I also see the Bogeyman has traits of Satan himself, especially with the cloven hooves! It's almost as if the Bogeyman's domain is located between Earth and Hell, with the Bogeyman's scaring perhaps being the work of the Devil himself!

You could make the Boogey Man be the ultimate villain and actually make the Ghostbusters movie quite serious. Anytime you hear the music cue come in that plays when their packs are overloading, that is the "deadly serious" theme used only in very few episodes. The "everything is at stake" theme. The most serious Ghostbusters episode ever is when that one guy got a flute that could play a song that would end the world. He was basically impossible to beat and almost destroyed the entire world. I believe it was called Ragnarok and Roll. They literally only won because his best friend we w child was going to die and it changed his heart back from a demon to a man. He then played the "Song of Life" and restored the destruction. The Ghostbusters literally could NOT beat him, he himself gave in.

The greatest Ghostbusters episode. This would be such an awesome movie if done right. Those Ghostbusters were brave. They had no idea if the Boogieman’s realm would have either oxygen or gravity or any other pitfalls. I wonder if there was a reason the packs and the bomb had to be on his throne. What if they just put them right by the door that led from the $1500 apartment and went back immediately? Where was Slimer? They could have used his help. It’s like he just hid the whole time. What if the ghost bomb was a dud or didn’t seal the layer off? Boogie was maniacally laughing when he thought he was chasing them back into our world without their packs. No one made sure Boogie was not on Earth when they set off that bomb either. Boogie could have decided to keep chasing them and abandoned his layer. He could have also reached the proton packs in time. No one wondered if Boogie could break the seal either. What Egon planned was very risky and very reckless. They should have been wearing trackers and have Janine standing by with extra proton packs. And have Slimer carrying a fifth with them in the realm. Egon was so driven that he threw caution to the wind. Did he do that In other eps? This seems so out of character for him.

This. Was. Scary. I was in my early 20's living in LA. One of my friends said to watch Ghostbusters; that episode was "Mrs. Rogers' Neighborhood." This was one of those episodes that I remembered long after the series ended on tv. The Boogieman in this freaked me out the first time this episode aired. That freakish look and that voice he had had my 7 year old self either turning the channel, lowering the volume or hiding behind the closest piece of furniture. Not a lot of episodes did that but this episode along with that GI Joe episode where everyone got replaced for Shipwreck driving him nuts and then for Roadblock to melt after coming out of a car wash.

One of the funniest things about the voice cast of this cartoon, to me at least, is Lorenzo Music voicing Dr. Peter Venkman. Lorenzo Music also voiced Garfield in that TV animation around the same time frame, and later on when the Garfield movies were made (2004 and 2006), Bill Murray voiced the titular feline. I always thought that was neat.
