So back in July 2019 I was a mess. Drinking, crying, just upset at God for taking both my parents by the time I was just 29 y/o. I was so sad & lonely. That night I prayed, I asked God, “what should I read in the Bible?” (A friend suggested I ask Him this). Kid you not...as I’m sleeping, I heard a voice-very calm, slow & just soothing whisper in my ear, “Job”. Never heard of Job before this. Never knew anything about Job. I woke up & remembered hearing “Job” & let me tell you...it restored my trust & faith in Jesus like 1000! Ok! Been on fire for Him ever since & it’s been the best times of my life living for Him! Blessings to everyone!

I am now homeless, spent 16 years in prison, lived a life of sex, drugs , and rock n roll, and at 50 years old i realized, with great pain, how weong and arrogant my thinking had been about God, so i jave repented, sworn to love and obey Jesus and trust God in all situations. Its been about a week now, and so many amazing things jave already happened. I found a great church, i was able to reconcile with my brother, and i jad an experience of Gods glory,.likely just the timiest fraction. I asked why i must praise Him and give all glory and hinor to Him. Truly, while praying, i saw the universe, jesus suffering on the cross for my, and others, sins, and how terribly and wholly corrupt my nature is and how all that is good came drom God. Then, i felt His presence, not in a nice comfy way, but in a totally AWEsome way that revealed His goodness while also revealing my sin nature. It was a terrible and wonderful experience. I dont know how things will go, but i know bu loving and obeying Jesus and His Word, whatever happens will be azing and for the good of Gods plan. Jesus is real! I love you, Lord! God bless you all🙏😊❤️

that's why I don't judge the church to destruction, given despite it's complete corruption it picks up sinners simply because its hipocrisy requires it to act as a church of God despite in reality acting to enslave the population for the government, which is why the government adopted the church (and [Nazi] psychiatry) in the first place. For some people false truths and false hope is useful when there's nothing else. Sex, drugs , and rock n roll is also adopted by the government to rule. Panem et circenses. But back to the point, that was the role of egyptian priesthood thousands of years ago, and Moses was raised by it... government, enslavement, which is ironic since God was always mad about disobedience to him, and thus meant disobedience to any other master. God is gealous it is written

As a little kid, I was diagnosed with asthma, and pre-diabetes both gone now. When I was in high school, I had really bad anxiety to the point where I didn’t wanna leave my room had to take medication for it. Thank God I don’t have crushing anxiety anymore. When I turn 21 I was diagnosed with glaucoma in both eyes three years later after praying to Jesus to be healed. I don’t have glaucoma anymore. I reach 30 I was diagnosed with diabetes. Pray to God, I ate well and I exercised, and I don’t have diabetes anymore thank God. Throughout it, all, I have learned to love the Lord with my entire being. Because no matter what I go through it’s his presence in my life that brings me peace.

People have faith because they suffer. They suffer under a ruthless globalized capitalist system, and because of that we need comfort in our day to day struggles. I know this because I've read Marx, and the rich ruling classes(who also own and influence organized religion) don't want you to understand Marx, religion is very useful to them. I'm not saying God isn't real, I'm saying that the powerful forces at work exist because of the system, the humble hard working masses, unbeknown to them, generously give their power to the capitalist class when all workers don't fight for decent standards of living.

I hope to be like Job in the sense that I never lose my faith in God. When my mother died I was 16. I used to pray every single day for her. When she died unexpectedly, I lost my faith afterwards. Now at 21, I've regained it stronger than ever before. I'd never even opened a bible before, and now I've been exploring the word of the Lord more and more each day. I can truthfully say that my faith did waiver, and for that I will always be sorry to the Lord. But He will never lose me again, at least I hope not. I hope I am strong enough to persevere through life's struggles and always stay humble and kind. Please dear Lord, give all of your loyal children the strength to persevere through life's miseries, and to praise your name when things are bad AND when things are good.

Dear recipient, I invite you to read this message because it is very, very important. We kindly request that you take a few moments of your time to read this letter because it is possible that this letter will open up a new dimension of your role a human being in this universe. We hope that you are a free, broad-minded person free from prejudice whose goal is to find the truth. Before we continue, let us declare to you the purpose of this letter - that it is an introduction and invitation to the lifestyle known as Islam. SOME FACTS Islam has approximately 1 billion followers known as Muslims who follow the final revelation to mankind, known as the "Qur'an", revealed to Prophet Muhammad about 1400 years ago. Contrary to the common misconception, only about 20% of all Muslims are Arabs, the rest are Indians, Indonesians, Bosnians,Africans,Chinese,turkish and so on . WHAT IS ISLAM Islam, unlike most other religions, is not named after any man. Instead Islam means the submission of one's will to the only true god worthy of worship "Allah" and anyone who does so is termed a "Muslim". The word also implies "peace" which is the natural consequence of total submission to the will of Allah. Islam is the religion that was given to Adam, the first man and the first prophet of Allah, and it was the religion of all the prophets sent by Allah to mankind like Jesus and Moses . THE MESSAGE OF ISLAM The most important message of Islam is the absolute Unity of God-that there is only One Supreme Being who has no partners and is not dependent on anyone or anything. He is the creator of everything and the whole universe is under His control. Since the total submission of one's will to Allah represents the essence of worship, Islam is the worship of Allah alone and the avoidance of worship directed to any person, place or thing other than Allah. In essence, Islam calls man away from the worship of creation and invites him to worship only its Creator. Allah is the only one deserving man's worship as it is only by His will that prayers are answered. Hence prayers to the non-living such as the sun, fire, and to humans whether they be Jesus, Moses or even Muhammad are rejected, as Allah informs us in the opening chapter of the Qur'an, known as Soorah Al-Faatihah, verse 4: "You alone do we worship and from you alone do we seek help." A Muslim believes that Allah and His creation are distinctly different entities. Neither is Allah His creation or a part of it, nor is His creation Him or a part of Him. Ultimately, it is the belief that the essence of Allah is everywhere in His creation or that His divine being is or was present in some aspects of His creation, which has provided justification for the worship of creation. Islam, hence, is a clear call to the worship of the Creator and the rejection of creation-worship in any form. THE MIRACLE OF QUR'AN "And if you are in doubt as to what We [Allah] have revealed…then produce a Soorah (chapter) like thereunto"(Soorah Baqarah 2:23) This was the challenge put forth by Allah in the Qur'an 1400 years ago. As of yet, none has or will ever come close to meeting this challenge. Hence, as a result, multitudes throughout the centuries have believed and continue to believe in the Qur'an as a revelation beyond any human capacity. Modern scientists, for instance, have been amazed by the accuracy of scientific information presented in the Qur'an. Here are just a few examples: In his book of embryology-'The Developing Human' [W.B. Saunders Publishing, 1982], Dr. Keith Moore added a whole chapter to discuss the scientific accuracy of the Quranic discussion of this science. Another eminent scientist, Dr. Maurice Bucaille wrote in his book-'The Bible, the Qur'an and Science': "I could not find a single error in the Qur'an…if a man was the author of the Qur'an how could he have written facts in the 7th century A.D. that today are shown to be in keeping with modern scientific knowledge" Facts about astronomy, the animal world and other natural phenomenon, that were alien to modern science not long ago, are scattered among the messages of Allah's Unity and His Attributes throughout the miracle that is known as al-Qur'an . WHAT ABOUT ALL THE OTHER RELIGIONS There are so many sects, cults, religions, philosophies, and movements in the world, all of which claim to be the right way or the only true path to Allah. How can one determine which one is correct or if, in fact, all are correct? The method by which the answer can be found is to clear away the superficial differences in the teachings of the various religions, and identify the central object of worship to which they call, directly or indirectly. False religions all have in common one basic concept concerning Allah: they either claim that all human beings are gods or that specific individuals were Allah or that nature is Allah or that Allah is a figment of man's imagination. For example, Prophet Jesus invited his followers to worship Allah but those who claim to be his followers today call people to worship Jesus, claiming that he was Allah while Jesus himself would deny this as Allah says in the Qur'an: "And behold Allah will say: "O Jesus the son of Mary Did you say to men, Worship me and my mother as gods besides Allah; He [Jesus] will say-"Glory to You I could never say what I had no right (to say')" (Soorah Al-Maa'idah- 5:116) Even though false religions might teach some good things, they all, however, teach the greatest evil- the worship of creation. Creation-worship is the greatest sin that man can commit because it contradicts the very purpose of his creation, which is the worship of Allah as explained in the following verses: "Verily Allah will not forgive the joining of partners with Him, but He may forgive (sins) less than that for whom so ever He wishes" (Soorah An- Nisaa 4:48 and 116) "I have only created Jinns and men, that they may worship me" (Soorah Zaareeyaat 51:56) Why do I have to be muslim ? Since the consequences of false religion are so grave, the true religion of Allah must be universally understandable and attainable, not confined to any people, place or time. Within the central principle of Islam and in its definition, lies the roots of lslam's universality. Whenever man comes to the realization that Allah is one and distinct from His creation, and submits himself to Allah, he becomes a Muslim and is eligible for paradise. This is the essence and the corner-stone of Islam: "Laa Elaaha lllallaah" (There is no god worthy of worship except Allah) Its repetition and the sincere belief in it automatically brings one within the fold of Islam and guarantees one Paradise. Thus, the final prophet of Islam is reported to have said, "Any one who says: there is no god but Allah and dies holding that (belief) will enter paradise." (Reported by Abu Dharr and collected by Al-Bukhaaree and Muslim _________________ I hope to contribute to the publication to guide others on the path of truth. Job suffered for us. It wasn't random, God in his infinite wisdom knew Job's story would make it into the bible, knew Christian's for generations would read it and learn from it, analyze it, gain comfort or understanding or peace from it. We are the "why" to Job's story. Like mentioned, God can see everything and details we can't even begin to comprehend, including the details of the future.

Job didnt deserve any of it and neither did I. An all knowing god did this knowing the outcome. That's immature of god to do so. The middle of my job story was 13 years ago. And 13 years later he hates me even more. All because I didnt answer his call to become a priest. God hates me and wont allow my plan, happiness or anything that I work for. That my friends is hate, NOT love!!!
@takodapeters82214 жыл бұрын
@@johnnyyuma9802 There are a few fundamental assumptions here that I would like to challenge. 1) Why do you not deserve punishment? If you are a child of God, you are no longer a child of wrath, true. But we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We, everybody deserves wrath, not grace, but God does give us grace. The rain falls upon the just and the unjust. 2) Why do you assume that God hates you because you were not given the role of a priest. To be clear, I do not know what denomination or beliefs you hold to whether that be Roman Catholicism or Protestantism. God may have a better plan for you, or He might have a different time for you to become one. I would not say God is hating you because things did not go as you intended. Search the Scriptures to see the truth of God, and maybe He will guide you to a peace and deeper realization of His sovereignty and grace. Peace be with you Johnny.
@takodapeters82214 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I will correct my statement. Just because you chose not to do what you believe He may have called you to do, doesn't mean He hates you. There are other ways to serve as well, but for some things, you may have to step away from something you currently have. Jesus does tell us that we must hate father, mother, sister and brother to be true disciples of Him. I'll clear up the statement though, since some interpret it incorrectly. We must still love our family, but we must love God the most. God is first and foremost, everything else comes after. So maybe you should consider ways in which God might be calling you to the ministry, or even the Great Commission.

He needed to understand. We all do. He came to understand by understanding that God's wisdom is beyond his understanding. He refuted the "friends" explanations as Jesus refuted legal explanations that did not come out of an awareness and relationship with God. Both Job and Jesus had that relationship. They both could do this because their love for God was unmovable, deep, part of them. In a way I see Job as a prophetic figure of Jesus.

God did not restore his first children. Because they were dead. God gave Job three new daughters and seven new sons. Neither did he restore his wife. She was dead. So those children came from another mother. Surely God gave him those human beings in his life to love, to look after them, and not as posesions.... Frankly it makes for a hard reading, considering I am a woman and a mother... ...if God had done that to me... how could he "replace" my children?? no child can replace another... It would interesting if Job had written what all this new children and possessions ment to him. Maybe he had known all the way that they were only there to praise God.

I lost my 29 year old son just 2 weeks ago. I'm struggling. I keep asking God "why?!" And "why now?" My son had 2 young daughters. My son was just beginning to really become mature, becoming a good dad to BOTH his girls, and he and I had the past year of getting to a great mom/son bond that had eluded us for several years. Why God WHY? I hope and I pray that my son had received Jesus in his last unconscious moments before eternity. Satan is tormenting me with thoughts and yet I feel the Holy Spirit saying "trust me" in this deep darkness of my life.

Trust me when I tell you this... God DOES NOT give you a spirit of fear or worry. Those horrible thoughts are from Satan. Please remember that Satan knows he is doomed and will never win. Therefore, he hates and despises what God loves, which is you and your son. It's why Satan torments you with these thoughts. Satan knows he can do nothing to God, so he (Satan) works constantly to hurt the things that God loves most...which is you. Father in Heaven, please give this good man and good father your peace that surpasses all understanding. Give him strength, courage and wisdom to face each day knowing that you are in complete control, and that this good father will one day see his good son again with you in eternity and where no harm will ever come to either of them again. This I pray in Jesus name, Amen.

DO NOT allow those thoughts!!! That is 100% Satan! God does not put thoughts like that in us. God says in the Bible "Fear not" 365 times, and I promise you that He is not putting those thoughts in your head or heart. So, I pray that God heals your heart and fills you with peace during this time. I pray that you will come to know that your son is with Jesus at this moment and that you two will see your son again. God bless you and your family.

The engine seized not even 5 minutes from it. All I had to do was pick up some light items. i was depending on that job I have $10 to my name. Currently not sure what to do all of my money is self generated and requires my car. i'm likely going to go knock doors in my neighborhood bcus I have a bit of a sales background. I have a family member I'm hoping can borrow a car from but I'm not sure how itll go. Regardless, God is in control. Atleast I had some food in the fridge have a pot roast going but uhhh.. yeah lol. I thank God for the transformation He has done in me. Back then, when I heard about Job's story it was truly hard to take in. I questioned God a lot, "why would He let this happen?" My second time hearing it, I still really can't comprehend the entirety of it. But I am resting assured and at peace. The thing is, we don't always have to understand. God and His ways are not always in the scope of our understanding. So when time arises when we really don't understand, we just have to trust His heart. I am so blessed to have this change of mindset, thank You so much Lord.

God makes a bet with the devil and fucks up jobs life big time. He then almost loses the bet and intervenes. Not wanting to let job know that the reason he killed his family was a bet, he told job that he is could not possibly understand any immoral action that god allows since job is not able to see the bigger picture. God convinces him by showing him cool shit. Then, because god felt bad for killing jobs children, he gave job double the shit he had before which totally replaced his previous family. The moral of the story is that god can do any shit he wants no matter how fucked up and we must accept it because he is god. Also, that the choice of the jobs previous children to not abandon god is completely worthless and they are just pawns just to prove that god was right. Y’all are a naive and ignorant cult hopelessly brainwashed shit.

@@Onlinepower1 I like how christians go on and on about how atheists cannot say they have objective moral values. Look at this story. It basically says that all evil is justified for a greater purpose. Think of the most evil event that has happened in all of history. Maybe it is the persecution of the jews by Hitler, maybe its slavery, maybe it's the imbalance of power, or abortion. Whatever it is that you are thinking about, the christian is compelled to say that this horrible tragedy is the best such as, "Abortion leads to the greatest possible good". This is because everything god allows, as shown from this story, is good. Not only good but the best. How can you possibly have any sense of morality if the most immoral thing you know necessitates gods plan?

Before I actually became a Christian, this was one of two books of the Bible that I had read to genuinely understand - because they were required readings in a (secular) course on the Bible at a completely secular university. The other required book was Genesis. And so, when I started seeking God, for purely selfish reasons, 10 years later, these two books Genesis and Job - weighed heavily on my understanding of the Gospels and Christian theology. I get the sense many people who fall away from Christianity - especially young seminarians, some of whom seem to enter their professional religious studies with well-intentioned, but ultimately self-defeating pollyannish beliefs about Christianity - may not have a strong grounding in just who God realistically is, and what his rights realistically are. But with Job and Genesis rolling around in my head the entire time I was a self-professed atheist then agnostic, I think I was fortuitously prepared to meet Jesus with realistic expectations . I think this was indeed God’s plan for me, the way he prepared my heart to accept the Gospel. I came to Christ at age 29, am 60 today, and hope to die within the faith.

Hi, James, Thanks for your thoughtful comments. I grew up in a Christian home, attended church every Sunday enthusiastically, and the thing that was most challenging to my faith was attending a liberal Christian college where religion courses typically looked for ways to stir up doubt rather than faith. I have a hard time understanding that to this day other than the observation that an overly intellectual approach to the Bible and our relationship with God is counterproductive. In the years following, through much prayer and additional study of God's Word, I now have a much stronger faith now than had my faith never been challenged. As Joseph said in the book of Genesis (chapter 50, verse 20), "What you (his brothers who sold him into slavery) intended for harm, God transformed into good and for the saving of many lives." In terms of understanding the book of Job, I might only add a verse from the letter of James, what I consider to be the Wisdom book of the New Testament: "So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession." (Chapter 1:16-18)

So I'm not the most religious human being in the world. I don't pray to anything, and I don't attend mass. However, ever since I was younger I was always intrigued in the stories within the Bible and the messages they held; I thought of it purely as a long, historical fiction and philosophical commentary on humanity through the eyes of multiple writers. But that made it all the more interesting to me. So far, I've only really been looking up specific stories but, now that I'm older, I'm tempted to actually read the bible page by page. I don't really know what to say to you Mark other than 'okay'. Your comment was sort of just this long sarcastic rant about information everyone is already aware of, but the issue I have is that it isn't completely accurate. There are multiple developments of God throughout the Bible, and the one you're primarily referring to is the one from the Old Testament. In the New Testament, God is, in fact, different and mimics more of the 'just, pure, and glorious' description you sarcastically mentioned. I mean, just look at Jesus; he has four completely different iterations based on the varied perspectives of the people who wrote about him. Four different stories, four different personalities, etc.

I had cancer in 2012. It came out of no where like a thief and a murderer. I was attending a small college and was doing well. I tried going on a medical leave but I could not keep up. I reluctantly left. I never ask God why this happed to me. Instead I trusted him to bring me through. I stood on and prayed his word on healing. I read Job and other scripture daily. I read Job from a retrospective. This was because God knows the end from the beginning and I believed all things were going to work for good in trial. It was this that brought me through. I was supposed to get surgery to have a goofball size tumor next to my superior vena cava removed, 8 rounds of ABVD chemo and radiation. I opted for and trusted God with surgery and chemo much to my oncologist protest. The Lord was merciful and healed me after only 6 rounds of chemo. Now I am being challenged by the housing oligarchs and may face becoming homeless because of no rent control. My rent skyrocketed and extra $500. I will fast and pray and continue to trust him. I like your interpretation. I, myself believe that relating to each other is a choice, not regarded by how low we are, but our perspective of how equal we perceive each other. “At your highest point, no one is below you, at your lowest point, no one is above you”! Remember that and share it! Empathy and sympathy cannot be taught. It is inherently there or not. All man are equal. From the homeless, to the homeowners, and the extremely wealthy all the same. God is the only higher power. Not man! “No one above me but thee”!

The story of Job is bullshit
@johnekunode Жыл бұрын
I really resonate with Job cuz despite all the suffering he still looked to God, personal story, I grew up in a very violent houshold and both parents were abusive. Sad thing is that I was never a troublemaker as a kid(Always quiet and still am). Looking back it was like as if Satan was using them to test me if I would keep searching for God but of course in the end it didn't stop me thanks to God. Whenever I went on walks alone especially in nature it felt like God was giving me that virtual tour and it was always peaceful. Moral of the story is to put your full trust and pray to God as I have always done and he will exalt you to a whole new level, he's done it with me and he'll do it with you🤗🕊.

What about those of us who get killed by the hand of these vile abusers. I view it as God standing by and watching suffering. Why is it, via this story we have been told, nirvana is always after suffering you didn't ask for in the first place. Isn't all of existence his "fault"? HOW did he allow this screw-up? Either way I'm done being "thankful". These abusers would beat their families and then literally go to church and "praise the Lord" on Sundays. Ahh Religon. I'm supposedly dealing with the fallout of a decision I didn't make. Since when do we punish everyone for the crimes of one? I sure as hell didn't eat any apple, but unless I accept this story I have no proof ever happened, I get to go to hell. Interesting. Let's see a Christian give an actual answer that makes sense to that without usual self confirming propaganda.

@@mememan2344 Sir you missed the point, one thing humans get wrong is that God is careless in managing the world (and on the side I never mentioned religion at all in this) the point was that you have to be able to trust God even in dier situations, when God gave Job that virtual tour he was showing how he is taking into account every detail on earth and he was basically telling Job 'why not you manage the entire planet for a day' and that's when Job got the hint because what people see and know about the world is not a quarter to God's understanding of his creation. Despite how enigmatic earth is we have to trust that God will pull us through and not worry constantly of what might happen.
@mememan2344 Жыл бұрын
@@johnekunode All of christian theology is constantly making excuses for the FACT that GOD allowed this all to happen. He's omnipotent, knows the future and the past. So he KNEW what would happen when he let a demon HE put in earth slither around and talk to his pure innocent creation- and supposedly that's somehow "my fault". B.S. What, was he asleep or something? A negligent parent letting their child drink poison or fall into the fire is more like it. The story is a bunch of witchcraft archaic self punishing b.s.- the whole Bible is a constant reinforment of "thanking God", for being merciful and just awesome in general when ALL of this is his fault. Job was supposedly Gods best servant, and God flippantly makes a bet with the very same demon who he KNOWS isn't gonna change his mind. God knows that whatever he allows Satan to do to Job, Satan is never gonna change his mind, so essentially, he allows Satan to kill Jobs entire family for no reason. But oh, it's ok, because he got a bunch of new crap and new family to replace the old, because JOB like US RIGHTEOUS CHRISTIANS is the main character, and therefore is actually important, in the same way christians worship jews. God created Jewish Jesus Christ perfect, and since God wasn't able to create ME perfect like he did the jews, I need to prostrate myself mentally to somebody who doesn't exist and I have never spoken to. These stories make ZERO sense. God needs to do better, because he (the jewish God you believe in) did not consult me before subjecting me to his screw-up, so he can f off. And I won't be guilted into believing such a God exists. He does not. I am a diest BTW, but all this "read this book to learn about God" is an obvious lie, because the jewish/islamic/Christian God's are all EVIL, and the texts are a bunch of evil psychotic babble. So God couldn't get it right the first time- so I'd better believe in him so that when he comes back the SECOND time, I'll experience the "new heaven and earth" 😆 nope. And I won't be scared into believing either- because all you recruiters are taught to use the same tactics, and it's confusing. Why doesn't you guys have another god contest like Moses did to prove the true God. Oh no that's right because if I don't just MAGICALLY believe this b.s. I'm told, I'm an unbelieving wicked generation looking for signs and wonders -.- How convenient. Yes, I could indeed run the earth better than the Jewish God, because I would have killed Satan right off the bat. Unless of course he isn't truly all powerful and couldn't do that for some reason. Idk.

@@cleangoblin2021 I almost got myself into a bipolar medication and even somewhere along the line any lazy medic would have diagnosed me with something worse. Luckily, I hesitated and was too afraid to become reliant on medication, so I kept postponing. The reason was to get myself enough time to meditate and then resolve the smallest eaiest habits that I caused to myself. Part of the habits was refusing to learn about myself and my mind. God helped me learn about CBT and notice every little tangent that was messing up my entire cognition. I then got the right diagnosis of unadvanced ADHD (treatable even without medication). It's wild to me that kids with mild (not severe) ADHD are all put on Ritalin or adderal. CBT and psychosocial improvement did it for me. At one time when my symptoms were fading, I decided to try half a pill orf Ritalin. The drug ws so powerful, I decided to never use it. Moral of the story: Trust God, always get a third doctor's opinion, go wth the least aggressive opinion, and focus on your thinking and socials. if you feel off, find every reason to get help or retreat and note down your thoughts. If you have a good prescription and a proven plan to wean offf it, be very very disciplined with it.

I suffered a lot in my life and that lead me to became skeptical of God. I had erased every Christians channel on KZbin, but had forgotten to do so with this channel as well. Had not realized that because it never came anything to my feed. In the midst of me doing I sometimes I shouldn’t have, thinking God can’t exist when there is so much suffering so I can do whatever and it wouldn’t matter. This video came up. I thought I had erased every Christian channel, but maybe this is from God. So I watched. Did not understand this video at all and I thought it probably was just accident that this was on my feed. So I went through with the decision. I now realize it just was a destructive move. Regretting that move was what led me to God. The first thing that read was Job and it made perfect sense to my life. Job was self-righteous at the beginning, and humble by the end. That's a pretty powerful lesson right there. So much of our "humility" is self-serving and fake. Listening to people complain about God is a sure sign that they think they deserve something for their "faithfulness." But the only thing we deserve is hell. God's love for us means we don't get what we deserve. THAT is humbling to consider. And meant to challenge our self-righteousness by recognizing that God did for us through Jesus Christ something we can NEVER do for ourselves. He saved us from what we deserve. Trust God no matter what, people! Real humility is a trust that surrenders to God's Will... even though we don't fully know what it means or where it will take us. Be Blessed!

How can a new wife and children compensate? They can't. And clearly the author of this book understood that. Compare the numbers at the beginning and end, the livestock. But then notice the children. The pattern breaks and it is not an accident. There's something important implied there. You don't have to believe it, but there is much intended by that final passage. There's also much to be gained by examining the names of the daughters and the unique position they received, being granted an inheritance, but that's another matter. John, your questions are valid and have been asked of this text for centuries. Sit with them.

I always pray on Him and I don't feel His presence. I got disappointed because I always talk to Him. I feel that He forget me, He still didn't answer my prayer 😅 I'm so lost and I don't know what to do in my life. Because of desperation, I read the Bible. I know that I should read the Bible but it's so hard to start reading it. I did try before but I keep on stopping and abandon the idea of reading it. But now, I regularly read the Bible. I feel the motivation to read it and I'm so happy that I did! I'm still lost at life but my worry slowly fade away. I'm very thankful that I read the Bible seriously. I always had this idea in mind that our family has been cursed, that my generational bloodline has done unforgivable practices or acts which angered God. Every time we encounter painful trials like consecutive loss of my siblings and other misfortunate events in our family. The Book of Job has been my hope that whatever happens, God is always there for us. He deserved to be praised in whatever season. By watching this, it reminds me that God's wisdom is unfathomable. Every thing works according to His will. Therefore, I just need to trust in His ways even though the pain is so unbearable.

I feel like these books could also be a representation of one’s gradual maturity of faith throughout life. The first Book of Proverbs represents youth of our life when we are a bit naive about life and ambitious to succeed and “innocent” in a way that we haven’t met big life challenges yet and we believe life is fair and just. Then the second Book of Ecclesiastes represents the point of our life when our faith is tested and we face big life challenges for the first time and our whole belief system is questioned, we become a bit cynical, we start to believe life is not fair and we don’t see the meaning or the point of life and all this suffering. The third and final Book of Job tells us that God ALWAYS has a meaning for our life and that he is always with us even through the hardest challenges when we feel betrayed and abandoned and that we should always trust Him and His infinite wisdom and believe it’s happening for our greater good. :)

*The third and final Book of Job tells us that God ALWAYS has a meaning for our life and that he is always with us even through the hardest challenges when we feel betrayed and abandoned and that we should always trust Him and His infinite wisdom and believe it’s happening for our greater good.* I'm very curious what edition of the story you're reading that says any of that, or even vaguely suggests it. In this story God *caused* Job's hardest challenges, just to prove a point to Satan, whose opinion shouldn't matter on anything. Job's trust in God WAS betrayed. The only greater good that came out of it happened after God bullied Job into submission, not by explaining anything but by saying "I'm bigger than you so be quiet." And even then God didn't bother bringing back Job's slain children (presumably he could have) but by "blessing" him with new ones, as if children are as replaceable as sheep or crops. Job's wife did most of the work for that part anyway. Have you even read the story?

@@scotte4765 If you approach life believing that avoiding suffering is going to make you happy, many things out of the Bible arent going to make sense. Its the fabric of the book of Job that the wisdom of man doesn't hold up at the scale of God's thought and action. There's a reason the Bible's books on Wisdom can feel inconclusive and confusing. Christ compares the actions of God to those of a gardener in the New Testament. A flowering tree has no place to rebuke its gardener if the decision is made to prune it, even if the process wounds it, clipping away part of its own being, that it's spent its existence growing and cultivating in its own eyes. Job learned from the experience, and grew as a result of his pruning. It was painful, and expressed in pages and pages of tragic Hebrew poetry questioning the value of life in terms of human suffering. It's easy to feel our gardener has betrayed our trust when he chooses to prune us, but we have no right to offer an alternative. It's foolishness to do so. If it wasnt for the permeation of sin, there would be no suffering at all. None of us have the right to a life with no suffering, except Christ himself, who showed us clearly that a life full of pain that gives glory to God is a life that we should be honored to live. I think you've read Job's story. You're just missing the point. It's insolence and pride that gives us the audacity to challenge our maker. At least he's longsuffering enough to let us live with our mistakes, with the chance to grow and turn to him.
@scotte47654 жыл бұрын
Ethan B Thanks for the reply, but you’re doing the same thing the previous two commenters did: reading into the story morals and lessons you like but which aren’t actually in the story at any point. The analogy of pruning a tree is appealing, but it doesn’t work here. We’re told explicitly at the start that Job was righteous and blameless; he did not need “pruning” of any sort. We’re also told why these atrocities were done to him, and it had nothing to do with his own improvement. It was purely God trying to prove a point to Satan, which is a bizarre situation in itself. The only lesson Job seems to have learned (since he never actually got any answers to his very just and reasonable questions) was that he should be quiet and not ask questions when confronted by domineering bullies. Sorry, but I don’t find that an admirable lesson. And even the morally questionable lesson that submitting to bullies will yield rewards is itself a lie, because you know was well as I do that here in the REAL world people don’t get double of what they lost restored to them when they submit to God. They have to carry on and make do on their own just like everyone else. I have nothing against learning from hardships, but nothing you’re saying about that here is supported by the text of this particular story. The only reason some people find it confusing is that they’re trying to look at it through fogged-up Christian goggles. In the context of the early Bronze Age polytheistic culture in which it was written, where the watchword was “my god can kick your god’s ass”, it’s still not very comforting but it does make sense.

TheJhong47 continue to question, its good I personally felt strongly in my faith until i came across Plato’s allegory of the cave and then started to apply the reasoning to god. And found that the more you question the more answers you receive. I turned from unsure to wether if god was all loving or all powerful to come to the concussion that god was not all powerful or all knowing but was to a certain decree more like pi in the sense that infinite was still plausible and came to the realisation that you could apply some of the aspects of Plato’s allegory of the cave to the nature of haven to suggest how we can never attain it nor reach it. In other words god can be understood by human logic and is therefore understandable but some of his words are deeply illogical and nonsensical. So there are always more questions to answer so never stop looking for them.

@@johnnyyuma9802 First, we must remember Our Father is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). He loves us so much that He allowed His innocent and Holy Son to be _mocked,_ _tortured,_ and _murdered_ for the salvation of His children. Who better than The One who *created you* and knows all the hairs on your head, would know how to heal your brokenness? Jesus says *"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."* (Matthew 11:28) He is the Healer, the Comforter, the Prince of Peace. I don’t know what you're struggling with now so I can't speak to your situation. But we can see through the gospel that He never forsakes those who have faith in Him and follow Him. EVEN when it may seem like He's abandoned us. One thing we often forget is that following Him means going through some challenges, especially in a God-hating world. "We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God" (Acts 14:22). Don't quit the race, and don't let the enemy win! In the life of a follower, trials can signify different things; "the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastens everyone He accepts as His son." (Hebrews 12:6) Sometimes there are sins we need to repent for, sometimes He is taking us through trials to strengthen our relationship with Him, and sometimes He is building our faith through patience. There's so much to learn about God and His purpose in your life, I couldn't possibly know it all (or summarize it in a KZbin comment if I did). Please ask God, *the Alpha and the Omega,* who is outside of time, and whose ways are higher than your ways, and whose thoughts are higher than yours, what He is trying to reveal to you? What does your life look like through His eyes? I pray this trial strengthens your faith, and works together with all other things in your life, for your good! 🙏🏼❤ *"You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13)*

@@janitakanu7680 37 years, dear.. He had me all that time. Strengthens my faith? After all this time you would think he would cut the shit... But no.. I won't give it to a being that did me like he did. You're preaching to the choir. I wake up every day wishing I were dead.. Why? Because he gave me no purpose. I'm done praying to him, I'm done with lessons and crap that I don't deserve and I'm done with giving myself to him when he never gives it back... I don't thank him anymore. He took and took and took. No matter how I lived. His Devine plan is to make me suffer.. You speak of patience? I've been patient for 13 years. I've been patient since 30 when I looked up and said I was ready.. That's hate to play with someone like that. And he will receive the same in return. I'm going to go back to drinking and drink myself to death... 37 is too late and I refuse to live his plan when it's my life and what I work for....... That's hate to not allow a good person who was nothing but loving,faithful and trusting. Hate. As for him being near to the brokenhearted? He was never there for me

I had really bad news yesterday. I allowed myself a few tears. But this morning I’m singing songs of praise. Because I’m here. And God loves me. There is nothing that can separate me from Gods love.
