Ben as soon as you talked about this book for the first time I went out and got it right away. As soon as I was leaving the bookstore with it, this gentleman bumps into me and apologizes and I keep walking. Seconds later he comes back and asks what book I bought and I tell him 'A New Earth' by Eckhart Tolle and he says, " Oh! My cousin's book". !!!! What are the chances huh? I met his cousin and we talked a lot about the book, such a crazy experience! This book is life-changing ; and hearing about it from someone just as bright as Eckhart made me have goosebumps ! Thank you for the recommendation, I made my entire family read this hahaha.
@PeaceNLiebe3 жыл бұрын
So cool you met a family member especially after purchasing your first Eckhart book-Wild! I heavily relate to sharing his content with family members lol. What’s awesome is when I started getting the hang of having presence arise/quieting my thoughts more and more, others naturally were inquisitive. Convos tended to end up with them either buying his books or me lending a copy haha. Ripple effect 💧

Maju! This is amazing! I can't believe that happened! This is Law of Attraction in the works, you bumping into them was a sign that this book and experience is a moment of great importance to you and your family. I have used Eckhart’s teachings for the last 8 years of my life and everyday I still find I’m growing. Another writer I’ve loved in tandem with Power of Now / New Earth is Tosha Silver’s ‘It’s not your money’ and ‘Outrageous Openness’ - she talks about divine abundance but does it through storytelling and it’s beautiful. I also love Krishnamurti’s videos on KZbin about ‘Death’. He talks about how recognising we’re impermanent breaks the heavy chain to the ego which thinks it’s guaranteed to live forever. I understand Eckhart used Krishna’s works as inspiration to help him express his enlightenment experience on paper. Take care!

Has anyone who has read Tolle's books now get angry about most religions (especially Christians) as having created a false egoic god? Tolle doesn't even like the term god because it has been so misused. Tolle explains it best when he says "The eternal, the infinite, the unnameable was reduced to a mental idol that you had to believe in and worship as 'my god' or 'our god'.”. It actually gets me mad now to see how the ego has effectively monopolized "god," and it is the ego's definition that 99% of humans believe, using the bible as the only possible source. In other words, Christianity might be the most powerful trick the ego has pulled thus far. I realize now that the false egoic biblical god is one of the biggest sources for the division and suffering of human kind. It is going to take a long time before all of the world's religions dissolve and the wisdom that Tolle espouses becomes widely understood. So "A New Earth" doesn't seem like it is coming in my lifetime (maybe in my next life I will witness it if I am fortunate enough). I still love this book, and I'd rather understand the truth than be part of the rest of society that does not. But now I realize how screwed we are when I now understand that my entire family and pretty much everyone else has a false understanding of god, and they have no idea they are owned by their ego. I feel that the ego has 99.9% of humans completely in its grasp with almost no hope of escape. Tolle doesn't seem to think that's as big of a problem as I do.
