The only problem with this movie is it's written like a TV show. This could have competed with The Wire if it was formatted as a show, especially since both have such similar styles of dialogue. If my memory serves correctly, the Boondock Saints was given so much shit for seeming like a Tarantino knock-off film. Nobody accused The Wire of ripping-off other police procedurals, although it's just as guilty as the Boondock Saints for "unoriginality." Feature-length films of this caliber were always scrutinized more than TV shows are.
