This was always one of my favorite shows. I'm a 79 baby. And I grew up in an "all black and Hispanic neighborhood" do to speak. So that's what it was called. There was no race issue, I mean through the 80s and 90s all the way until this big media thing.. there was no reference to who was what color ever other than jokingly. Like I'm the Italian white boy covered in tattoos and I was labeled as the "colored friend" and that's just how we were.. yeah there would be the kid here and there that would say something racial when they were pissed off or hurt but no one said it with intent to do harm. It's always been used the same way Fack or bitch, even C.U.N.T. and I live in upstate NY. One of the most diverse areas even in the 80s. I think the media made the race thing bigger than it was in decades other than the few areas that are left globally. But for the most part it wasn't a thing here until the media.
