bro. his shot selection is like Luka's but if Luka shot 3s at Shaq's efficiency. his offense is a huge reason why these games have been so arduous. he gives away possession after possession with his terrible bullshit 3s. he shoots like 60% inside the arc but decides he wants to launch 3s at 25% efficiency.

@@slightexag And despite his rough shooting, HE STILL AVERAGED 30/10/6, what more do you want? And no his offense wasn't a huge reason they've been stressful, if you actually watched, the Pacers throughout stretches of the games made literally whatever they wanted despite excellent contests. You not see how many buzzer beater lucky bounces had? They only started collapsing in the last minutes of the 4th quarters. His shooting is off, yes, but I can count how many times how many shots he back rimmed or had layups simply roll off with like 4 hands, that means he's slightly overshooting. Those are timing issues that can be easily fixed. It's not like he's airballing or completely missing the rim

When talking about the Celtics injury luck and potential finals matchup, too many people just seem to forget the fact that they've been missing Kristaps Porzingis for the last two series! KP was the one who made them so ridiculously dominant in the regular season. Without him they're still a great team sure, but they're basically the '23 Celtics just with Jrue Holiday instead of Marcus Smart and Malcolm Brogdon. KP coming back for the finals changes the entire scenario.
@Jeremy-ot6pb
@Jeremy-ot6pb 7 ай бұрын
but there's a difference between random injuries to #1 options like jimmy butler, donovan mitchell, tyrese haliburton, dame, giannis, and jalen brunson who are pretty healthy vs relying on a third option who is physically unable to stay healthy like porzingis. nobody gave the clippers or sixers any slack for kawhi and embiid being injured because they're so injury prone so it's viewed as you take that with having a player like that. (you can make arguments for jimmy and tyrese haliburton as being injury prone but still not to the same degree as kp)
@rome8180
@rome8180 7 ай бұрын
Yeah, and missing KP has really been showing up in their pick and roll defense. I love Horford, but he's old as the hills. There's a reason every guard they've faces since the KP injury has lit them up. His absence matters.

3 of the games genuinely could have gone either way. Great run by Indiana. Such a fun team to watch. Rebuilt the right way, stole Hali off of the Kings. Happy to see Myles actually getting to play some meaningful basketball as well, glad they didn't trade him the past couple years. Young team that should learn from this and be better next year. Great series even though it was a sweep. Boston just had the experience and cool to finish the games. My Celtics finally seem like they took their opponents serious from the get go for once. Hopefully Boston can cap it off. Banner number 18, here we come.

I heard this fact when watching game 4, the Celtics won 3 straight games despite the pacers having a 50% or better shooting percentage which is the first time in playoff history that has happened. So it’s not like the pacers played bad, they know how to fight and in my opinion they where the toughest team we’ve gone up against. They just couldn’t get points or stops when it mattered the most.

its to that point now where people online say that really good teams get a cakewalk to the finals just because they're good and better.. they did all of this without porzingis too.. imagine what the playoffs brackets would look like if porzingis actually played those games.. celtics would sweep their way to the finals against injured or healthy teams by the way put this celtics team in the 90s they would still dominate, with jrue and dwhite's defensive abilities, browns finishing, tatum's all around scoring and kp's height and length they would absolutely annihilate anyone standing in their way and they would be known as the greatest constructed team of all time. they would win at least 74 games and sweep their way to the finals. everyone in the nba now is great somewhat and everyone on their respective team has their own strength different to others. take this era's bulls for example: Lonzo Ball has his elite playmaking as his strength, zach for his finishing, demar for his midrange, pwill for his defensive abilities and vooch's rebounding what im basically trying to say is that everyone on their own team has a role and is needed on their team, everyone is better at something than someone else on their team and everyone is good. Celtics shouldn't be known or seen as frauds just because they played injured teams.. when Haliburton was injured.. who stepped up? Andrew Nembhard did.. when Jarrett Allen was out who stepped up? Marcus Morris Sr had that rare 20 point game we haven't seen in god knows how long.. when Jimmy was injured who stepped up? Jaime Jaquez Jr did his thing and played to the best of his abilities The Boston Celtics shouldn't be seen as frauds or a fake championship team or whatever you call them.. they still went up against some tough opponents

it is hilarious the lack of acknowledgement some people have when it comes to the celtics and their run. its okay to admit that their route to the finals was unbelievably easy and their roster is stacked. i dont get why people try to act as if it is not lmfao. it's embarrassing

as a Cs fan rn i'm so excited. unless ant pulls off something that has NEVER happened before- we have the best chance to win the title we will have in YEARS to come. the NBA is such a good league and the dallas mavs were our easiest matchup out of the final 4 western conference teams (debatable with the thunder but i think mavs take it). obviously they have a chance to beat us bc the celtics haven't faced true comp in this run, and luka and kyrie are playing g outrageous rn, but this is our best shot to win by far. every comment i have left as a skeptical celtics fan about us walking into a trap in the finals with the wolves and nuggets. idk if the mavs are a trap series. i think we are just simply better and should win

I don't get the whole "you do well in the regular season to have an easy path take" when it's not like they're getting easy teams because they're the 1 seed they're getting easy teams because the other team's star player is getting hurt. Nuggets last year is an example of being rewarded for having the 1st seed Celtics this year are just getting blessed by with luck lol

but in the playoffs, the 1 seed always has the “easiest” path in theory. it’s a reward for being the best team. it just happens that some players get injured which helps them win the series.

I feel we do this a lot. We see less star talent and immediately jump to, that’s an easier team. Understandable. But you plan for Tyrese, ight he’s not there. Now you gotta change that gameplan to not only what tj McConnell does and niemhard does . But really you gotta adjust the whole gameplan. And it sounds cliche but a team with nothing to lose is dangerous. How many times we see a star player go out and the team actually play better? More often than is brought up

Both players were extremely important to the result, JB had some of the most pivotal individual plays in the entire series which gives him the edge in my eyes. Huge steal to prevent Pacers from dribbling out the clock, clutch 3pt to force overtime, 40pt game where he dominated when Tatum wasn't shooting well to start. The game is not only about stats, it's about doing what it takes to end victorious when the buzzer goes off

Celtics are as battle tested as anyone, they’ve been building this for almost a decade , battles with the Heat, Philly, the Bucks, the KD Nets, and the Warriors, along with an NBA champion in Jrue. People act like they’ve never faced adversity like this is their first year running and the Mavericks dominate them in all the intangibles. Even the way they won this Pacers series is something to at least acknowledge for their late game heroics.

Celtics are front runners. When it gets tough for Tatum he shys away and Brown has to do the heavy lifting. It will be interesting to see how they respond to being in a much more difficult series.

Congrats to the Cs, they’ve beat down everyone in front of them, but good lord is this not easily the least difficult path to the finals in NBA history? I don’t think there’s a single finals team since the merger that wouldn’t have made the finals against this competition. Makes me jealous. The Bucks in 2021 (my team) had injury help absolutely, but they also had their best player get hurt and had to go through a healthy Jimmy, Durant, and Trae before the finals. This team had 2-3 games of Mitchell as its only superstar opponent. Again not saying the Cs don’t deserve this, they do, just jealous for teams across NBA history for whom this chance would mean so much more.

Bucks had by far an easier and less impressive run. The heat were not as good of a team back then as they are now. The nets had both kyrie and harden injured and still managed to push the bucks to 7. The hawks were a joke of a team with Trae but then he got hurt and they really could do nothing. The Bucks also managed to stay almost completely healthy except for Giannis missing 2 games meanwhile the Celtics have been missing their 3rd best player for 12/14 of their games

I got every playoffs prediction right so far but two flukes. I picked Bucks instead of Pacers and Celtics as a ECF winner, and on the other hand picked LAC as a WCF winner instead of Dallas. Both teams had similar 1st round series and played against no healthy LAC and Bucks teams, and seems to replace my picks after 1rst round. In the end I picked LAC to win the chip, so congrats Dallas I guess? :P All jokes aside, best wishes to both contenders, let's have an interesting finals to watch.

I hate the “bubble ring” “easy run” narrative. 1. Every single year regular or post season injuries and such happen. Every. Single . Year. Using that as a reason to excuse a team winning isn’t fair to the injured team or the winning team. 2. That’s the entire point of the regular season. Everyone knows the first seed get the easiest run. Without that there’s really no point to do well in the regular season.

I feel bad for the Pacers. They're an incredible team that played with every bit of effort possible. And to be honest you're not the best offense in the regular season of Halliburton alone. He's great but he's not Doncic, SGA or Steph. The Pacers are a team of good players 1-6 or 7 that play team basketball. They have defensive deficiencies and little experience for sure but they've played all teams close all year. Heads off to them for an incredible season.

Both Boston and Indiana were in no-win situations from the moment the playoffs started. Both teams are being knocked for beating injured teams, but they would've been knocked even more for LOSING to any of those injured teams. Not to mention that neither team faced any BAD opponents, just INJURED opponents. They both faced teams who won 46‐50 games (the Knicks being the only 50-win team of that bunch), and those teams could've won more games than they did if certain things had panned out for them during the regular season. It's not like the Celtics were not expected to reach the Finals anyway, nor was it guaranteed that the Bucks would have dominated the Pacers the way many people thought.
