This is my all time favorite Celtics squad, right there with the 86 team but this was a lot more enjoyable for me considering I was in my early 20s and KG was my favorite player during this time even before he came to Boston so it was that much more awesome, the 86 team I was a baby only 2 yrs old so I couldn't appreciate the greatness of that team but def the Celtics big 3 of my generation

IMHO Rondo should have been considered as one of the big three instead of Ray Allen. His handling, defense, rebounding (especially for his size) and scoring was more important to the team. No disrespect to Ray, but he was a streaky shooter.

As a lakers fan...2008 was the 1st nba playoffs i took interest...daamn the hype of rivalry return of celtics and lakers...kobe's return to finals without shaq and 1st stint with gasol and celtics crazy turn around season...wish ray allen should be fmvp...its not pierce or rondo that makes this celtics scary as a kobe fan...its ray allen's sharp corner 333s and house, pousey 2nd unit squad and KG defense

The Celtics were definitely the heavy favorites with the LAL in the 2008 NBA playoffs. They beat the Hawks in 7, the Cavs in 7 (Paul Pierce scoring 41 points including a miracle free-throw in the last seconds), the Pistons in 6 and the Lakers in 6. In the Finals, they achieved the greatest comeback, trailed as many as 24 (45-21). And they blew the Lakers in G6 (131-92). The 39-point margin was the largest in NBA history when a team clinched the Larry O'Brien trophy. They deserved it ! The Lakers got their revenge in 2010...When will be Allen's number retired by Boston ??

I believe the most defensive series was the Pistons vs Pacers in the 2004 ECF, also because handchecking was allowed and they weren't calling so many fouls on the defense. But the 2005 finals was also a very defensive minded series.

Literally have the worst record of any champion in the playoffs ever…they went 7 vs the Hawks and Cavs and then went 6 against Detroit and LA. If LeBron had a teammates as good as 2017 Kyle Korver, they would’ve cooked them. Definitely not “unstoppable”
