+Dat Scout R u kidding me? This scene made no goshdarn sense! I did indeed see the movie. Maybe he was insane or something, and yes they certainly wanted the program to "burn to the ground", but it just came out of nowhere, and the guy decides to make a scene while doing it. If they wanted to kill the scientists, couldn't they have just hired a real skilled assassin to do the work when they aren't at home? Plus, the guy was literally gunning down everybody, and with little sense or not, he has all the bullets. That makes me wonder why he is so slow to let Marta Shearing alive. "Oh no! My scientist pal who I've known for quite awhile goes berserk and I don't know why this is happening to me! *sobs*". Me neither, lady. This was such an unevenly paced scene.

@thefirstbourne1498 жыл бұрын
Again...this scene just popped out of nowhere and was just placed there for no reason other than to get you scared for no reason. Then, after that completely useless scene, which for some reason people think is actually scary, the cliché scientist lady and not-Jason-Bourne fight those guys off in Renner's clearly worst role that year, ironically released with his best role in The Avengers, Hawkeye. Come to think of it, he should have dragged his bow and arrows into this movie, and I mean that gadgetized bow and those gadgetized arrows, and killed all those who stood in his way and become the bad guy. It wouldn't make the movie much better, but it sure makes for something that grabs your cash and allows it to make more darn money than it actually did. It made significantly less money than The darn Bourne Ultimatum!

Aidan O'Neill intense sequence of terror and violence. When you read some of these other comments here about how it was ‘intense’, ‘disturbing’, or that it ‘scared’ them or felt ‘real’, I think that would fit the bill. The scene was executed very well by Gilroy, but I just feel that it’s meant for a more mature audience.
@bigboybob3334 жыл бұрын
skeng81, making something “intense” or “disturbing” is not enough for it to be rated R, it is determined by the intense Blood and Gore. If it is TRULY rated R every shot is fully shown (you actually see their heads getting shot), but that does not happen, it only shows us the gun firing and if it actually hits a person the camera cuts it out. Watch rated R violent shooting movies like John Wick and any other R movies to know what im talking about.

Reading over the comments, I feel like people need to know...There is workplace training nowadays for what to do if there is a attack/shooter. Marta did the right thing. First step is always to try and escape. If you can't escape, hide. If you can't hide, or your hiding place isn't safe enough, barricade yourself somewhere the shooter can't get to you. The last step is for if you can't do anything else, only then do they suggest confrontation and only in the manner of trying to get a bunch of people to attack the shooter all at once. It's more than likely a death sentence for at least some of the people so it's always only a LAST RESORT. A one to one attack is suicide unless you have previous training (like special forces) or a weapon of your own (like the cops/security). Marta did exactly right.

Honestly It's really ridiculous how this scene managed to pass as PG-13 lol. Depicting helpless people being murdered is a-okay as long as you don't show the blood and kill them offscreen. This scene is disturbing to watch as an adult let alone young teens. I'm all for making movies like Transformers PG-13. But some of these films are literally a case of passing via technicality. I used Hydrochloric acid in science classes when I was 11 yrs old, it wouldn’t do much to stop a determined shooter, besides irritating the skin and eyes if you managed to splash it accurately. Realistically speaking if you’re close enough to throw acid onto him, then you’re definitely close enough for him to accurately unload 9mm rounds into your body. I’d of thought you’d say Hydrofluoric acid, I’m no scientist but isn’t that the one criminals use in acid attacks or to torture people, meaning that would stand a better chance of incapacitating the gunman in quick succession, as it can melt straight though skin and bone in a matter of seconds.

There are multiple things that can factor into why it didn't penetrate. What caliber was he using? What ammunition type was he using? How good is the quality of the ammunition along with how much grain is there. Not to mention the fact he was also shooting at an angle which makes it much harder for the bullet to penetrate. Angles make objects thicker than they are supposed to be. Maybe the glass they use is different. Facts aren't clear. I remember seeing this in theaters. This movie wasn't that great but this scene was actually scary. Horror movies now a days are garbage. But this scene is actually realistic and unfortunately mass shootings really do happen.

Zeljko Ivanek plays his part very well, the creepy, unemotional approach to his given assignment. Spot him in Madam Secretary too, he still looks creepy.

Luckily, the people closest to the shooter in the shooting I was in, instinctively reacted very fast (fight response). Everyone else ran or hid. The way people reacted was all over the place.

Do you think the shooter listened to Jay Z before the shooting to amp himself up prior to the action? He’s mad as Hell. I can imagine him speeding and listening to rap music on his way over here

Hate to say it but in a mass shooting in a close space hiding is pointless. You're making yourself a sitting duck or risking your life on pity from the shooter. Literally everyone has to rush the shooter and attack. Her knocking him down and leaving him with the weapon to go hide under a desk again is insane. Plot armor kept her alive...
