ITV’s Network First documentary broadcast 08 April 1997 examined claims made by a man known as Edward that videos have been made in Amsterdam in which young boys are abused and killed, and that convicted paedophile, Warwick Spinks, was involved in making them.
*Synopsis*:
Police at the Paedophilia Unit, New Scotland Yard say there is no evidence that 'snuff movies' exist, though there are many in which boys are abused: they show a brief clip of film released by Dutch police with the aim of identifying the perpetrator. Edward travels to Amsterdam to identify the bars and clubs Spinks was involved in. Looks at police action to deter rent boys at Piccadilly Circus. Interview with Kenny who was 17, and another boy who was 14, when they were picked up and taken to Amsterdam.
PART TWO.Traces the story of Peter Howells, manager of Bovver Boots Casting Agency, now operating from Amsterdam and claims that the agency was a cover for obscene photographs. Reconstruction of statements from men sent as children by the agency to photographer Harry Jeffries and manipulated into posing. Reporter doorsteps Harry Jeffries at his home in London, and confronts Peter Howells in Amsterdam.
PART THREE. Edward talks about tapes, and insists he saw five boys killed. Points out the house in Amsterdam where he was shown snuff movies, and the lake where the bodies were disposed of. Brief sound only interview with Spinks in prison: he denies knowledge of the murders. Reconstruction of secret sound recording by Dutch police in which Spinks claims to know makers of snuff movies.

Have to remember - this was 1997. The law was completely inadequate and it's much stricter now. The sex offenders register was not introduced until the Blair government took power later on in 1997. It illustrates though just how little society thought it cared about child abuse. People just did not want to know, and if they did, they were just as likely to blame the kids. It's really only fairly recently that society has started to take child abuse seriously.

In the US Summer of 2003 I was a Native American 15 yo male in Syndey Australia. I wondered off after a night of fun and parting. I was there on a international sports tournament where a variety of high school athletes from many countries competed. I speak 8 weeks out there. One weekend I snuck out to see the night life with friends. I got lost and wondered down the wrong street and didnt know where I was. I ended up in Sydney Australia Asian town slums where sex worker congregated. As I a walked down the street I was approached by a couple of older males that told me they would return me to my hotel. I went with them dumb ass me. I went. One of the dumbest mistakes I made. I went and the two men didn’t take me to my hotel. They instead took me a couple blocks down the street. They walked me to a house a neighborhood of homes. In the particular home there another small cottage like home in the back I was taken there. I was entertained by the men both looking of English decent. As I was we talked more people arrived more older men. With in the hour there was a group of 8 men in this small little guest house. And comes another young male around my age also. They give us drinks. Not knowing these drinks were laced with drugs. I immediately noticed the high. Being a stoner at that age and sniffing spray cans i knew I was being drugged. I asked for immediate return back to my hotel room. They denied me. I asked and begged they told me the only way is if you show me your feet. They lift me and remove my shoes and socks. They are photographing me and my feet. Which was way bizarre. The other young boy speaks and tells me don’t fight. It will be alright. Then they asked what nationality I was. They said they never seen such a beauty. Amazed by my body and fitness. I told them I was Navajo from America. They immediately were aroused. Then it happened then I knew I was not going home. I was scared. I had 8 bearish like men all over me. Me watching them have sexual intercourse with each other. Then them trying to do the same back to me. I was raped and dropped of that night. I woke up a couple blocks from where I was picked up. I was sore in the penis and anus. I had vomit rank shirt. I last remember an image in my head of a bald bearded man between my legs and I see my feet being molested by men. That was the last image I remember. I reported it to law enforcement and to my US embassy. A man from US embassy came to me and said that I was lucky I wasnt abducted and lost to the dark world. We would have never seen you again. He got after me and told me to be aware of pedos. I was watched very closely. I have been to many therapy sessions. And still have nightmares. This is happening. Sex crimes against boys and teen males. Be cognizant. Be alert.

@@bigwendigo2253 i am doing fine. I wish i could have seen the person i could have been without this trauma. I am doing good. I have been through so much in my life and keep pushing along. Many instances i have tried to take my life. Especial when still in high school. But, i overcame that. Being ADD, Bipolar, OCD, Anxiety, and PTSD i couldnt be a better mental health specimen. I didnt let it stop me. I am currently a well off Social Worker Nurse and pride myself in my career and my daughter. I adovcate and provide mental health counseling to many people in my community including LGBTQ members. I learned that talking about my rape gives me a voice and takes theres. A rape kit was performed and one of the guys that raped me was caught because he decided to do it again to another boy. And thats when there was a DNA match. He is currently serving time in Australian Officials Custody.

My parent made sure i wasnt just a victim but, a strong being and spiritual being of divine creator creation. I am at peace with the whole experience. It has made me grow in a way i would have never thought. I got certified a few years ago as one of the Navajo Nations very few SANE. It is hard being in my field. But, i know through my experience i become more trusting to my patients and they are more open knowing my story. I still help my first few patients and we at times connect in a more friendly /family setting.

When I was a teenager I was homeless and had ceased contact with the home n family I'd left. I was on the street, young, and looked way way young. I looked about twelve until I was about twenty. And the number of times I encountered sexual predators is insane. Loads of more or less pushy attempts to get me to go along and be alone with older men. Frequently along with offers of money or housing, some fun, drugs, all sorts. A handful of straight up tries at just grabbing me and taking me off to god knows what. Sometimes by groups, sometimes with a vehicle nearby. And two overt attacks, one with a knife, basically the plan then was immediate rape, rather than getting longer 'access' to me. Luckily I was a bit older and stronger and less trusting or suggestible than an actual child of 11-15 or whatever might be. So I physically escaped getting hurt. But I can confirm, that these people are active amongst you all, hunting, using, hurting children, regularly seeking out victims, young boys, yes. These predators aren't made up nor exaggerated. It's scary, to think about, isn't it really?!

Warwick Spinks went on the run in 1997 around the same time this was made. He disappeared for 15 years. In 2012, he was found in Prague, claiming to be a Dutch businessman. He was deported back to the UK and put back in prison. He was also prohibited from leaving the UK again. Sadly, the way he behaved with children is pretty much a carbon copy of the way adult females are pushed into sex work too. People trafficking, pimping. Vulnerable people. It's exactly the same "business model", and very likely a lot of the same criminal gangs involved - often very closely interlinked with the drugs trade.

The beauty on humanity is our ambition and desire for knowledge and wisdom. Our desire to transcend our nature is one of the most unique goals of any creature in the known universe. But at our base, we are only a single step up from animals. It can't be helped, we are still at the bottom if you look forward. Most people will react with violence towards another if they make offending noises with their mouths. Some people like to be peed on, and some people will assault others for peeing on them. Others are sexually drawn to younger or older mates or other species. Some human are aroused and feel connections to inanimate objects. Some will continue eating unhealthy food and become obese, others hear voices and see horrific visions because of disorders. Nothing is impossible with humans. Unfortunately.

What the hell is it about Amsterdam?! Last night I was watching a few clips of an old “Dr. Phil” episode from January 2022 and one of the guests was a man named Tony Fort. In 1996, at 10 years-old Tony was groomed, sexually abused, drugged , and abducted by a friend of his mothers. Thankfully, Tony was rescued and returned to his family thanks to the FBI, especially Agent Candice DeLong who took him to be reunited with his family. The abductor, Michael Vines was sentenced to 30 years in prison. Where Amsterdam comes into play is it was later revealed that Vines planned to take Tony to Mexico so he could get a little girl and then the plan was for Vines, Tony and the little girl to flee to Amsterdam!
