Just wanted to start of with that I have seen japanese-English speakers and also some people I know personally as well, make a point about how the translations on the show/the reunion are sometimes wrong and that they change the context or just a bit off which then leads to mistranslations/misunderstandings to the viewers. Like with Shun for example: Many of the japanese/English speaker and more, have said that Shun isnt cocky or rude like the english translations have lead some people to believe. Some remarks about how the guys spoke during the reunion: Dai spoke very politely, Ryota kept calling Shun and Dai; Shun-chan and Dai-chan, Taeheon still refers to them all as a squad, Alan spoke very beautifully and Shun consistantly/constantly uses ”ね ne” as a sign of desire for confirmation or agreement from Dai when speaking about their relationship🥹 I came across these translations and just wanted to share them with you as I felt these were a little bit better in my opinion and also according to some friends of mine who are japanese-english speakers. It felt like these translations were able to show/keep the nuances and such a little better that the original onces. I hope its okay to share. Here are some nuances lost in translation from the boyfriend LIVE reunion. When the panel asks Shun about his initial feelings towards Dai, he almost says he didnt like Dai but quickly changes it to ”I didnt have interest in anyone”. Interestingly, during the watching party when Usak asked him also the same question, Shun said he wasnt interested in anyone and that his feelings were all over the place. That time he almost said ”I kind of liked him” but he quickly changed it to ”I thought that he’s good”. When speaking about their first date, in the subs Shun says ”I went just because I was invited”. In japanese the grammer that uses basically means ”doing a favor”, so what he said is ”Dai said he’s interested in me, so I did him a favour by going on the date. That was my motivation”. When talking about the ”almost kiss moment”, Shun says that that was just a conceptual idea and the whole point was just saying that. Panel: You probably thought that he wants you two to kiss, right? Dai: I thought I need to give a payback. (Not ”I bet” like its written in the subs.) When panel asks Shun if he knew that what he said about them kissing could give Dai a wrong idea and Shun said no, in the subs Taeheon interrupts, commenting ”he knew”, what he actually said was ”Youre so cunning”. When discussion why Shun came back to the place where they almost kissed at, he mentions ”So it would be like an other sky”, like in the program, where people go back to the places they feel a connection with. Panel: Your resilience was impressive. How did you feel? Dai: I just couldnt see anyone but Shun -> Panel: Your resilience was impressive. How did you feel? It was painful right? Dai: No, I just couldnt see anything but Shun for a month and a half. When the panel and Dai discussed Ikuo’s confession and Dai said that in the end it was always Shun for him, Ikuo says: I’ve been rejected two times now!. Taeheon: I also use to be a princess like Shun. Maybe I still am. In my 20’s I probably was worse then Shun - I was a troublesome queen. (In the subs the last part wasnt mentioned) Shun: So with Taeheon’s words, I realized I don’t have to overthink it. Because I hurt you. -> Shun: With Taeheon’s words I realized that its not about what bothers me, its about you whom I hurt. Alan when talking about who he would choose to become (Shun): ”he was So bright”. What Alan actually says: ”I was like what is he doing? You know, that day it was so bright outside”. He also adds that if its just for one day, he would like to be Shun. Shun then laughs saying ”Haha, only if its just for one Day?” 😂 Kazuto doesnt say he wasnt there when the small fight between Dai and Ikuo happened, he says he didnt witness the conversation between Ikuo and Shun, So he only understood the context when the episode aired. Alan: Not as partners or lovers, but as something as precious as it is right now, I want us to continue growing together. (Skipped) When Dai and Shun revealed their relationships, for some reason it wasnt in translation after the part ”Are you getting along well?”. Panel: Does your love continue to keep deepening? Shun: Yeah, its rapidly increasing. ”After watching party in october” -> ”After filming wrapped”, it doesnt specify the date, So probably its an additional info from Netflix. On the question on how often they see each other Shun answers with ”We’ve been together ever since..” -> ”We’ve been seeing each other every day. Right after we finished filming, I started living at Dai’s parents house for 3 months”. Dai: And now we live together💕 When talking about fights (Skipped). Dai: The sashimi one? Shun: Isnt that one too naive? Panel: Look how flirty they are, in their own world. The Sashimi fight. Shun says that he had brought sashimi and there were 4 pieces but he didnt eat more then 1 piece and there was 1 piece left and the panel was like so the 2 just disappeared somewhere and Shun nods, yeah and that was weird. Then Dai confronted him with ”Shun stop, Why did you eat all of them?”, Shun was ”But I didnt eat them :(” and he was so surprised. After hearing the story in the subs the panel says: ”So menial” -> The real words are: ”The sashimi incident”. When discussing the need to change a carpet the panel thought that its because of leaked soy sauce but Dai confirms that a pot fell on the floor and everything spilled out. SIDENOTE: Someone had left a comment on Shun’s sns that said ”I eat the sashimi, so don’t argue anymore” and Shun actually liked that comment 😂 Dai: Despite his looks, Shun is quite crazy, so my family finds it funny. -> There is a quirky side behind this appearance (points at Shun), so my family find it funny and interesting. ”For the first time I thought that maybe it would be okay to be hurt by this person” -> There is different undertone to this. What Dai actually says is ”For the first time I thought that if its him, maybe I don’t mind getting hurt”. Cute remark and teasing moment. When Shun was thanking Dai, he mispronounced one word and almost said ”I’ve grown” (height) instead of ”I’ve grown” (personality), and thats why Dai teased him while laughing😉 Ps. Thank you so much for your reaction. I always enjoy watching your reactions and also getting hear your thoughts & opinions on things. DaiShun just uploaded recently their first vlog, I really would love to see your reaction to it as it was lovely and calming, but of course no pressure. I mentioned in my comment to your previous reaction that I would share more translations and the nuances lost in translation regarding the reunion, I hope this is still okay although this comment this is really long. The advance screening to the first 3 episodes were filmed in October last year. This Live reunion stream was held last Aug 3rd. Shun was 23 when the show was filmed last year while Dai turned from 22 to 23 during filming.

The translations were a bit off in this. Shun said they got together after the show's FILMING, not after the 'Watch party'. Netflix added in the 'October' part (he never says a specific month), and from pictures and stuff it seems like the show was filmed September-October. Advanced screening was definitely not ready by then, and all the boys changed too much for it to have only been a week or so.

They most probably bickers and not actually fight..After watching their Vlog it's confirmed that they tease each other a lot and bickers a lot and not that kind of fight...

For usak and kazuto , kazuto said in his last interview he was so sad that usak left soon ..i know they both can have a good relation😢 i hoped they met outside the show but it doesnt look like that 😢 sad For shun i am so happy that he has the family he wants ..dai's mom looks so fond of him she always praises him in the comment ..shun didnt have a family to raise him he raised by himself even dai said in his last interview he respects the way shun stands up alone without any one to lean on 😢 He just needs love and family to give him advices and guide him like we saw with taehyon , shun accepted his words and did it ..God sent dai for him coz like you said he is mature , Kind hearted and understanding ..shun glowing and grow on up more and more.. his past relations were toxics (his first relation was with someone double his age😅) this affected him badly ..but with dai and his family i know he will have a healty relation 🥺 Btw i love your laugh hahha and thank you for not being tough about shun ..he has a soft spot in my heart .. i can relate to him ..i believe everyone can relate in same way 😅
