@ Why wouldn’t they? They certainly would not promote it...psychiatry teaches people about human behaviour (including the manipulation, gaslighting that often is present in cults). If a person is very knowledgable in psychology or have had experience with manipulative people, they are less likely to be easily convinced. The whole idea of cults is to convince people to believe in an ideology or a certain goal that is seldom in the best interest of the members or other people.

lumina orchis to me from seeing the later episodes the only thing I could see him doing is playing duck and cover until he arrives. Like they’re literally just dealing with the Arab supe and reporting on stillwell so once you’ve seen the backstory the actual episode it seems to leave little room for anything exciting. Sure there could be details but he was just messed up more than likely for the at most 2 weeks of more than likely hiding.

5:53 I'm pretty sure the only reason Homelander saved the baby was because the baby was already in his arms when the bomb went off and he didn't have time to drop the baby and save Butcher (so he could torturer him). Hence why he just left the baby in a yard miles away.

Kronk true but clearly she wouldn’t have lived the fall from the plane. There’s no consistency between their resilience which implies it’s a power level thing. And honestly I’m not sure maieve would. Homelander definitely. A train no. Deep no. Starlight.... not sure. Kimiko probably although I’m really confused on her power once you see her in episode 3 in a fight.

In the comics, Stormfront is part of another Superhero team, called Payback. In the same way that The Seven is a knockoff of the Justice League, Payback is a knockoff of The Avengers. Stormfront in particular is the Thor knockoff in that team, with super strength and lightning powers. Not sure why they've decided to not give us Payback. Maybe they still will.

EDIT: I have not read the comics so these are not spoilers, just my theories. *My Theories:* I feel like the fly had something to do with CIA Lady's exploding head. Not sure if it works for Vought but that is possible. Mr. Edgar hired Stormfront because he knows she will be a pain in Homelander's side and keep him busy. Becca was pushed by Vought to have Homelander's child and raise a good guy Super-Counter to Homelander. Vought knows how unstable and uncontrollable Homelander is. Stillwell's baby - saved by Homelander? by another super? (the fly?) or super itself? Good question.

I took the bit with the fly to be a direct joke at the audience who after last season kept screaming "WHAT'S UP WITH THE FLY?!" when in all likelihood a lot of the scenes they shot were in hot places and probably had flies buzzing around and they just didn't get caught in editing. Any other show you would just think "ahh those flies in the scene are annoying!" but in a superhero show you immediately jump to "WHO'S THE FLY?! ....WHAT'S THE FLY'S NAME?!? IS HE A SUPER HERO?? IT'S THE SAME FLY! OBVIOUSLY!! I THINK IT'S A SUPER HERO!!" When the fly popped up in this opening episode.... and then immediately flew into fly paper, I took that to be a direct "WE HEARD YOU, and WE'RE TAKING CARE OF THEM! Stop over-thinking the flies!" from the director/editing crew. I laughed out loud. Thought it was a pretty funny joke. You guys are still going "WHO'S THE FLY?" though... right as the fly gets trapped on fly paper. I think you missed the answer. The answer = "no one. They were just flies. We won't let them be there to confuse you any more in the future, don't worry. We brought fly paper this season." lol

Stormfront is Homelander's mother. Homelander essentially came out of season 1 triumphant. Season 2 is about the origin and fall of Homelander. I am putting my theory out there now. The reveal that he had an incestuous relationship will send him over the edge. There have been many teasers already suggesting that this could happen

I'm currently 50/50 on whether Edgar being a supe. If he has powers, he's probably like the Haitian in Heroes and can nullify the superpowers of other supes in his vicinity. That's really the only reason anyone who who knows that Homelander is a psycho wouldn't be afraid to be alone in a room with him.

This is a weird one for me. I finished S1 in 1 seating, literally in 1 day (with no background knowledge whatsoever about the comics) and it made me want more, but I found myself NOT invested in any of the characters. I was kinda cheering for Butcher for a bit, but then when we found out about the wife being alive, I was like meh. I feel like they could have done something better with that storyline, something more impactful. Hughie was also an OK character, Starlight as well. Kimiko and Frenchie are probably my favs tho if I really have to choose. It's just so weird. I usually find myself hooked on a show because of the character/s and/ the storylines, but neither really impressed me. Maybe the biggest thing that is keeping me hooked is the fact that these "Superheroes" are super nasty (Stormfront, anyone?) and I badly want to see them get hurt and brought down by Hughie and co. Nevertheless, I'm hooked and looking forward to the rest of S2!
