@@Wooley689 Maybe in the fifties. Not the late sixties, early seventies (Brady Bunch era). I'm not saying people dressed in rags. They dressed decently, but no boy I knew wore a suit and tie to go to a party at a friend's house. We were kids. We weren't dressed like we were going to a cotillion.

Since when do young people dress up for a party ? Since the Brady's 😊
@mls61798311 ай бұрын
At the time it was common to dress up when adults and kids went to a party or out to nice places. I remember dressing up to go shopping downtown.
@thomasplinguidy458810 ай бұрын
Over the years, children's parties - at least in the family series - were often formal affairs. I remember e.g. the parties in Leave it to Beaver or Diff'rent Strokes, where all the boys wore suits when they were invited somewhere.

Not really. I was their age during this period of the 70s, the kids wore suits to weddings, funerals, and other special events where there were predominantly adults. Kids birthday parties? Never. At least none of the ones I went to.

It was more common in the 60’s. After that, it phased out. Kids still dressed up for weddings, funerals, church, and important events.

Yeah......actually this is definatly unrealistic. Watching this gives a young boy the wrong idea how a girl thinks. You get this idea that if you get a girl to feel sorry for you that she will start paying attention to you. Actually, that is a big turn off for females. Like you said, young women like confidence in guys, they don't want to be baby sitters.
