Today’s tutorial explains the braking phase, and more importantly how we change our technique to optimise this section and reduce lap time.
I’ve already spoken about braking technique and trail braking in other tutorials, but in this article, we’re concentrating on how to push yourself to improve the braking phase and carry optimum speed all the way into the apex.
This will result in a small improvement at the corner in question - improve at every corner on a lap and you’ll see a massive reduction in lap time.

So true! Cornering is so much a mind thing, as long as my technique is sound, I could trust my traction so much more, but I don't. I'm watching these videos primarily for motorcycling. I can trust my tire traction more in the front end. Thanks

No idea if this comment will ever be seen, but wow, thank you for this. I’d love to race one day, but, as it stands in college money isn’t exactly if abundance to build a race car lol. I mainly do iRacing and other various sims, and I’ve been trying to figure out how to gain those last tenths or 1-2 seconds off the top guys times and this video was the stepping stone I needed to really close that gap. I understood the biggest issue was in my braking, but didn’t know how to fix it. You’re explanation finally put two and two together and has helped me figure out how to feel for that needed load in the tyre under corner entry to mid corner. You’re a saint, and this is the go to series I’d show anyone wanting to learn how to race.

Just a Discord Forum blog that our club uses for all kinds of gaming in pCARS, AC, and Forza. The club is called Up2 Speed Customs. I just tested for about 2 hours with your tips on smoother entry and balanced exit, and it works very well, actually shaved off a second or so at Brno circuit in an LMP900.

love your videos, already taken lots of notes and only half way. one of the points im working on is entry speed and mid corner speed limits, as i got quicker i started getting much better exits but now often compromise the entry so i have been going back to this again in hoping of connecting them, i was wondering if you could do a video with using limits of tyres without over stressing them as with the mp430 in iracing i can set the car up a certain way to make it use max grip as much as possible but i often end up over working my front tyres and killing them and struggling again after 15-20 laps. any ideas on how to get the most and balance between tyre conservation and max speed/grip usage would be great. i am already working on setup adjustments or not basing it around the front of the car and having loose rear and better ways to manage driving style and input without cost of time etc is just tyre management really im struggling to find or think should i be driving slower than the optimum overall etc or changing approach? etc

Er no... If you brake earlier than you have already lost time to someone who is is braking later.

So what he explained is for 1 corner. And I have to memorize the entry speed for the other dozen corners? And then maintain that perfectly for every lap!? Across 22 different race tracks!!!?? That's incredible.
