B2b is the best song on the remix album for me.. this is their 2nd collaboration.. first one being “Drop that kitty” in 2015.. they both came up the same time, both have had troubles with their labels, and had a revival in their careers 10 years later, Charli with Brat and Tinashe with Nasty.. love to see both of them winning 👏👏👏

So I's remix ends with that piercing sound because even though the song is all about remembering all the good times, it is inevitable to have a sour taste in your mouth that Sophie is really gone, like, GONE gone.

Would love to add on the Tinashe collaboration that her & Charli had a song years prior on ‘Drop That Kitty’ and your analysis about reflection on Charli’s success that it makes sense she added Tinashe . It’s because they’ve been in the industry for quite some time and now are both experiencing another peak in their careers, back to back, with Tinashe’s recent summer smash with ‘Nasty’ and Charli’s ‘360’. The second verse seamlessly blends both of their successes & reflection from where they’ve begun. Back to back yet better than ever. ❤

you expressed exactly what I feel about Matty - some of his words are just plain stupid/hurtful and I do think it comes from his self-destructive nature but A LOT of it is really taken out of context and those who aren't fans of 1975 won't get that he plays a character on stage and it isn't him being serious or intending to hurt anyone

i might say something stupid, everything is romantic, i think about it all the time, 365 and apple are probably my favs. love the reaction and love the album. i feel the same as you with loving her rewirting the lyrics to how she is feeling now after the success of brat. plus the fact that she let the artists incorporate their own usual style into the remixes is so cool. btw, you need to listen to bon iver! his albums are so good, especially the debut album and the self titled one. funny that you mentioned daft punk with mean girls remix, while julian is mostly known as part of the strokes, he had a very famous daft punk collab as a solo artist, you have to check out song "instant crush". it's funny timing that matty is currently dragged by swifties for a quote out of context about how he doesn't plan on metnioning any casual relationships on his next album, hah. btw, if you are in a podcast mood, he had a great episode on doomscroll about media consumption and art in general, like just came out, lol.

5. Girl, so confusing: the original quickly became one of my most favourite tracks off of the album, and the Lord’s added verse made me love it even more, cause you rarely have two pop stars openly singing about their relationship toughened by the industry - a clearly cultural moment 4. 365: have been waiting for this since the boiler room sessions, and gooosh, how these beats are BUMPIN during the choruses.urghhh🤯🤯🤯 3. I think about it all the time: i wasn’t expecting that a song with such deep lyrics could be rewritten and made MUCH MORE personal. charli did it again! wasn’t surprised that bon iver has been set for this song tho, both made it even theatrical 2. So I: love how both the original and the remix explore the two sides of the grief over the loss - this time remembering all the good memories with still a melancholic feeling, well conducted by quintessential a.g.‘s production. also enjoyed all of the references to sophie’s style of producing - the remix turned out insanely beautiful 1. Sympathy is a knife: might be an obvious one but sonically the remix is a refreshed version with so nice and catchy of a chorus. was worried how ari would sound on it, but she did a really great job here, even with her trademark adlibs during an electronic whirl at the end. love that there is a clear link between the og and the remix where in the former charli feels so small and insecure as an artist and in the later she herself became that big star having acquired all side problems of stardom. couldn’t be a better song from this two. also props to b2b (even tho it’s a completely different song now, i thoroughly enjoyed it) and everything is romantic (the only reason it didn’t make it up to my top is because it sounds like a song from a caroline’s album with so little of charli’s vocal, and the og still dominates my mind) btw, thx for the reaction and deep diving into it, as usual
