Same, well, except for the VHS part, and years ago back in the day when I still lived with my parents my younger autistic brother got into it, so, um, up, it was history, lolz :) I do have a DVD with the original 1987 film (Nothing altered) version that has both German and English options (The actual language, not subtitles, and it is amusing watching/listening to it in a different language, including the songs) that I got from ebay years ago :) I don't suppose you would know of any site where I can post a fan altered movie. What I did was change the speeds of the clips/movie to fit a bunch of music that I added to replace the films original audio and I would like to share it with people. Problem is, youtube won't allow me to post videos that are over 15min long.

There was about 10-15 VHS movies I'd watch in rotation as a kid, just watching movies we had over and over. This was one of them I had to prepare myself for, the yelling AC caused me some trauma, I was terrified of it. 20 years later watching the movie, it's still wonderful and brings smiles

This movie was my childhood. As I've grown older and still enjoy the movie I think about how this movie gives good theme representation to the different emotions we feel throughout life.

Everyone mentions toy story, but this is more Homeward Bound vibes. Toy Story was similar yes, but the premise is conplety and animated Homeward Bound.

I never saw the sequels. I only saw the first one. I don’t know how the master fits into the sequels, but I can’t help but wonder, that sooner or later the master would’ve replaced all the appliances at some point.

I would say this was a ripoff of Toy Story, but this was released before Toy Story. Plus it was written by Joe Ranft and it was John Lasseter’s idea to make the book into a movie in the first place

The release history of this movie is really complicated. Summer 1989 is the closest it ever got to a wide release, in 1987 only played film festivals and had limited runs in select cities as a matinee feature
