I really can’t express how influential this series has been for me. Somehow Dragon Ball has always been there for me. When I needed inspiration, motivation, nostalgia, it’s done it all. Ever since I borrowed the orange box set when I was in the first grade Dragon Ball has always stuck. Sure I’ve seen many more anime since but this show somehow always creeps back into my life. I remember debating who the best character or who was the strongest amongst my friends, rewatching our favorite moments and just feeling an unbelievable sense of joy and nostalgia. Akira Toriyama has managed to pioneer manga and anime. He created a story that has captivated the hearts of so many people. My thanks for him and his work will never be enough to truly put it into words. Thank you Akira Toriyama, rest easy.

Yamamoto plagiarized a few songs throughout his time working on Dragon Ball's numerous OSTs (Challengers from the Budokai games was basically an instrumental version of Hunting High and Low, there's a couple mashups here on KZbin to prove it.) It's likely the IOC would reject such a thing due to the risk of copyright infringement as a result. If this were anyone other than Yamamoto, it'd likely have been done by now... But it also wouldn't have the same charm, as Yamamoto was amazing when he wasn't copying other people's songs.

+Brendan Pokémon Trainer some of them are annoying? there is one good voice in there. Goku. i give credit to that voice actor. he is goku as he is supposed to be. That guy is probably flying to work on the flying nimbus. the rest. let´s not talk of them. i think they are horrible. good voice actors maybe but not for their roles. the music is good, though i still prefer the original (not falconer though he has some fucking epic tracks. i mean the Japanese original soundtrack ). For comparison watch Gohan turning SSJ2 in Kai and in the original DBZ. (your choice if funimation or ocean) Gohan is so weak. Cell is okay Sixteen seems to be the original voice actor but has a horrible sound effect over his voice. i don´t talk about the music. it´s good in general in kai but what they choose for the SSJ2 scene is plain horrible. supposed to be dramatic i think. even bravehearts triumphant return would have fitted the rage scene better. and you´ll agree it doesn´t fit at all. even the falconer tracks fitted better. and they were horribly cut together. they weren´t blended at all if you watch it. than for comparison the original scene. much longer yes. like everything else in Kai, but the voices are way better. Especially Gohan in that scene. The whole inner monologue when Cell kicked 16s head was missing. And cells remark after killing 16 "another fighter you could have saved" that´s what drove gohan over the edge. And it´s the voices that make an anime character come alive. That´s for example why i don´t watch anime in my native language german. what we call voice actors are not even professional readers. Well that makes TV and cinema in general a physical pain here in germany. there are almost no good voice actors (original DBZ had all the good ones i admit but thats the whole list of good german dubs) back to topic. the voices are the most important part for me. if the voices don´t suit the characters i´ll turn it off. and in kai i´m not saying that are bad voice actors, but they all remind me of an error in the german dub iof the original dbz. We had 2 VAs for vegeta. the first one was spoken by the same guy who spoke spongebob. not a bad voice actor, Santiago Ziesmer is one of the best if not the best german voice actor, but can you imagine Vegeta with the voice of Spongebob squarepants? the VA can be a god you won´t get someone whose voice is perfect for spongebob to be an even decent Vegeta. and that´s the feeling i got with the whole englisch Kai cast except for Goku. good vas but for the wrong role

I was just born when Kai started airing in 2009, I feel like I grew up with dragon ball Kai, ever since I was four I would be sitting down watching my tv late at night because I shared a room with my brother as I watched goku turn kaioken x20, super saiyan, and so many more amazing scenes, I love dragon ball, now as a freshmen I come back to dragon ball Kai, ending my childhood with what started it, all because goku didn’t have a choice and had to exert his power in such a way, thank you Sean shemel, chris sabat and the late chris ares, you all made my childhood what it is, and I’m thankful for that. Hopefully Sean and chris sabat can make more childhoods in the coming years. The friends, the memories, the games, the hype, everything. Thank you son Goku.

Don't get me wrong, the original DBZ Funi had some GREAT soundtracks (Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Vegeta, etc), but this one theme alone shits on *ANY* of Faulconer's themes. The way it inspires hope and courage really leaves me breathless every time I hear it, and fills me with a profound sense of justice, heroism, and a desire to genuinely fight against the forces of evil. What an absolute masterpiece.

The Freiza arc is definitely his most defining character moment in the series, but I’d say the end of Goku’s character was in the Cell saga when he decided to stay dead. Goku realizing his selfish nature and was willing to sacrifice his pleasure of fighting to save everyone he cared about was also a great character moment for Goku. Though, all of his character regressed in Super 🤦🏾‍♂️
