Conan Doyle at his best narrated in a superb manner befitting of this literary gem. Thank you so much Mr. Wagland. You have given me insight into the value and skill of your profession entwined with the greatest pleasure in the listening and evocation of, this especially, but many other tales of which plenty are yet to come. Do you not know that Doyle was a Satanist ? Look it up. Had i realized this was a Doyle before i started it, i would have never listened. Sufferring from COVID-19, i was bed-ridden & my caregiver had inadvertently put my phone on a table too far out of my reach & strength to silence it & caregiver too busy to hear my hoarse cries for help. Thus with delirious fever, i had to endure this terrifying tale. NEVER Again !

I know it was a common thing back then, and I also know it's a work of fiction, but I was dismayed that the feline was executed. This is why I like animals more than people, animals respect the rules of nature.

Yes. I think they all thought that once a big cat had tasted 'long pig' they'd do anything to get some more and make 'a bit of a nuisance' of themselves. Those private menageries still exist, don't they?

i’m not sure, but i think you read tthe opening quote and some of the lines in the beginning of the story with a bit of sarcastic irony. :) such masterly work you do. what i want to know though is, what is he living off of to pay for a ‘suite’ to reside in and a valet? and be a ‘man-about-town’? E.B.White went once to live in a ‘small’? house in the country and complained that he had only like 3 servants and how would they ever get along! they have absolutely no idea how the rest of us live, do they? >:/ 🧐
@feralbluee4 жыл бұрын
after all he’d been through with that disgusting, horrible person, i was glad for him at the end - as he did seem a good guy, even though spoiled rich. how much one gets into a well written, amazingly narrated story. ✨🌷
