Rf5 Kg8 Right now, Caldas Vianna finds a notable move, of problem, which creates many difficulties for Silvestre; study the position, before continuing with the reading, to see if you find the idea of the master; white pieces must take advantage of the defective position of the black King; the first check can be fatal for the black pieces; and this allows Caldas Vianna do the following beautiful move 24. Hi! I don't know if you are interested, but here we go. Your pronunciation to "Augusto Silvestre Paes de Barros" is pretty much correct (except for that 'rr' in portuguese sounds like your spanish 'J' in 'Joao' or 'Hotel' in english). And about 'Joao', 'J' in portuguese is different to 'J' in spanish, it sounds like 'J' in english, something like 'James', 'John'.. 'João' is 'John' in portuguese btw. Thanks for video, as a brazilian chess player, I've really enjoyed it. We had some others GM's like Mequinho and Gilberto Milos, whom I've already had the pleasure to have simultaneous match against when I was 14, of course I've lost it catastrophically. Laughs. Ok. Vinícius, you're almost correct. Being also Brazilian and an English and Portuguese teacher I'd say our 'J' is closer to the sound of 'G' in 'Geronimo' or 'J' in the french 'Jean'. The sound of 'J' in the english 'John' has a rolling 'dj' more like our 'tchau' in portuguese or 'ciao' in italian.

I must be missing something ... Why can the white knight on d6 not simply be captured? dxc3+ Kh1 Qxd6 Rxa5 c2(?) You give up the bishop for the knight, but it's an even trade in material, gives you a very deep c pawn and the queen gaurds the king diagonal via battery with the rook ... What line am I missing?

Actually, agadmator, you've pronnounced the full name of Augusto correctly. But the name of Joao is, in fact, João, and it is pronnounced somelike Jo-all in english. And the video is great, by the way! I'm very proud of Brasil. It's the best Evan's Gambit game i've ever seen. Thank you!
