NPC should become a completely amateur competition like College Football in the USA. The dynamic between Super Rugby and NPC should be the same as the dynamic between NFL and College Football. The money NZR saves from doing this should go into building out Super Rugby franchises - high performance academies, age grade SRP competitions, and Super Rugby clubs with retaurants and bars etc like how the NRL Leagues clubs do it. I think the NPC crowds will actually increase when all the pro and semi pro players move into the franchise system and the NPC teams are made up entirely from local amateur club players. It gives those players who love the game but don't want to go pro something to aim for and have ambition for.

For 2 seasons ive been asking for these guys to talk about the Hurricanes….. they never mention them every week. Nice to start seeing some recognition but they shouldnt have to be on the top of the table just to get mentioned. Also they just used it to talk more about the Blues 🤦‍♂️
