Just a speculation but when I first heard about a shaking coming, I didn’t connect it with an earthquake. I had an impression of a plant or a tree. Then a strong wind came and the dead and broken branches, as well as rotted fruit that was somewhat hidden within the plant were shook loose and fell to the ground. But healthy branches of all sizes stayed connected and weathered the storm. I also wonder if the true shaking (that “suddenly” that’s been promised) will finally manifest with the awareness of the Fear of the Lord to all the earth’s inhabitants. If you know the Lord, then the Fear would be shocking but amazing. But if you’re a non-believer, then the Fear would stop hearts!
