I've listened to a couple of podcasts where senior police have been interviewed. Apparently a detective having the ability to interview children who've been involved in an abusive situation is a rare and valued skill among officers. It's seen as a difficult thing to do effectively. I can only imagine how dificult that may be.

Thank you so much for your service. You are a remarkable man John. I feel like cops like you and Gary are dying breed. It makes me feel worried for the future of law enforcement in our country. I think that it was ridiculous that you were forced to retire. Very short sighted on behalf of the Queensland Police service.

If we can invest heavily into preventing people from smoking, why not invest in preventing child abuse.

Rouse is a bit full of himself, like a lot of cops in those specialist outfits are. Obviously, there needs to be a police presence on the internet. However when that involves destroying a young boys life, simply for chatting with a bogus 15-year-old online, then questions need to be asked. If I was doing that kind of thing for a living, then I wouldn’t be cocky about it. But that’s just me..
