You are a great storyteller in the Irish tradition. 😊. It’s great that the men are out saying the rosary in public. Great example to all.

Loved this! Sadly I already have a great set of rosary beads, which look at least somewhat masculine, but are no match for yours Fr Brendan. But they were bought for me by my daughter, so they are a treasure to me.

The rosary beads are beautiful and powerful when they are prayed on and blessed by a priest. I am blessed to know the man that makes these strong rosary beads. They look beautiful and I don't leave home without it. You will know they are in your pocket that's for sure!!

Father Brendan, can we work a deal and buy a Rosary along with the Poitin? Signed, "Looking for Holy Water in Texas"
@chookiechooks2 жыл бұрын
You're on to something there! Simply by appearance, poitin and holy water look exactly alike. Fr Brendan and Immaculata Productions can have a lucrative bit of income of the side labelling Poitin as Holy Water and shipping it to America. The heathen customs officers will have not heard of simony and will allow it right through.

@@chookiechooks Sylvester K, as long as Father Brendan blesses the Poitin before it is sold, then Church law is satisfied!

For the demons to simply see a rosary as imposing as that is like the old inquisitors showing their victim the instruments that will be used upon them first, to terrify them into submission. The demons will be hoping you will leave it on your dresser, or in your pocket, because the rosary hurts them like nothing else, but it is too large to be easily overlooked. The old wether falls down the well - just wrap the rosary around his horns, back up the hitch on the truck, and pull him out with it. I met a man who had one similar to this - it was quite intimidating, even myself being a Catholic who prays it daily. I feel weak and anemic and unmanly now with my wire strung rosary. I definitely want one of those rosaries to add to my arsenal. I'm going to pitch an idea to Immaculata Productions - how about a remake of the old series "King Fu," but with an Irish Catholic monk named Brother Rosario, who wields this fearsome weapon against all foes natural and supernatural? Imagine the converts that will come out of it!

I thought my rosary was masculine Father as it has withstood countless Bosch washing machines. Your rosary however, would probably destroy "said" washing machine.

Father, you''ve opened a can of worms now. I am beginning to think that the major war raging in the world is not territory,or economics ,or climate.It's gender. And there is no ceasefire in sight.

Real men are not called to sacrifice, real men, all men are called to Fatherhood and Fatherhood is a call to sacrifice. A Man can't be a real man without understanding his vocation to fatherhood either physical or spiritual. yes men are called to sacrifice, but today a lot of men have fallen prey to false notion of sacrifice. They will sacrifice themselves for hours in a gym to get strong and present themselves as tough. True sacrifice is directed towards fatherhood.

Why did Jacob steal Esau's inheritance? He wanted his father's blessing. Fatherhood is indeed the sacrifice but is every son blessed?
@williamgibson27602 жыл бұрын
Jesus sanctified matrimony and the relationship of man and woman to be a Sacrament. God made Adam and Eve to make each other "whole" in their "image and likeness of God". I won't argue nay that fatherhood is crucial, but as I understand it The Church holds the Sacrament of Matrimony and the sacrificial love of a husband for his wife to be of the highest order of manhood. The crisis of manhood and fatherhood stems from the loss of husband sacrificial (Christ-like) love for the good of his wife - which then corresponds to that for his children.

@@williamgibson2760 Well put. Last line v good. Must re-read Jacob & Esau with a view to the mothers (ie wives). What Decrevi says is also v good. Still the Jacob & Esau story has followed me. In it I saw the great power (or glory) in being a father (or patriarch). Its something for kids to want to have for themselves. To aspire to. To fight over even. The Church's vision of fatherhood is far from the stories we read of great fathers in the OT. Also in Jacob & Esau we see the continuation of what happened to Abel & Cain. Even for very great & holy fathers there is the fear & problem of conflict btw sons. Fatherhood needs to be revisioned by the Church. The sports mania (& beard mania) are symptoms of true glory (God's vision) not attractive or known about anymore. What Decrevi says is true. What you say is true (the crucial relationship is btw husband & wife & not parents & children). Everything flows (however the currents criss-cross) from that love. That is why the Bride is so important to so many married men of faith as well of course to every priest. In Her is the foundation of their love for their brides. Thank you. The priest is a good articulator of what was once common sense But he's good at it. V good.
