It is very impressive, and the very idea of making music inspired in such a beautiful legend as St. Brendan's navigation is great. I read a Latin version of that story some years ago, and I found it quite charming; even its medieval Latin, perhaps not too much correct by Cicero's standards, had something of a child-like simplicity that made it appealing too. Somewhere I read that Celtic legends have not found yet a composer who could do with them what Sibelius did with the "Kalevala," or Rimskij-Korsakov, Ljadov or Glière with the Russian "byliny," or Wagner with the Nibelungs… Well, Wagner ultimately drew on Celtic legends in his "Tristan" and "Parzival"… Anyway, perhaps we are here in front of such a composer who was missing… Unfortunately, I hardly could distinguish the sound of the uilleann pipes. Pachelbel's canon seemed to sound there as well (an excellent part of the whole, anyway). Thank you for sharing!
