Pity they didn't have head mics back then. Do you notice how much he's sweating? Singing and playing takes a lot of energy. He finally shed everything but a sleeveless top by the end of the night. Freddie didn't strip down only because he was showing off his bod, he got really hot running around.

Love the way he looks like he's really enjoying himself. It's been eons snce we saw Bri really enjoy being on stage. With Queen too often he was in the shadows and even when it was time for his guitar to be center stage Freddie did everything in his power to deflect the attention back to himself. Bri seemed a little nervous starting out but he was awesome overall. Love the energy and the way he really embellished his songs with great guitar licks. He has a very good singing voice when he's not screaming into the mic. This concert was some of his best guitar playing ever. Great show Bri. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Like wise. Pity Brian hasn't had it added to the Queen official web site. It took a lot of courage for him to go out on his own ... he hasn't beein in a great place since 1987 when his Dad died. He had a lot on his plate but it's good to see him getting bck to his vibrant self. I think this concert was 'good medicine' for him. Brian has a great singing voice especially on numbers where he's not screaming into the mic. But even those other nuumbers where he's demanding a lot of those vocal cords are great. I truly wish that Brian and Roger would do their own tour without anyone else singing. Between them they have over 60 songs and both of them sing well. Oh well one can dream.

But... Great work anyway! :-) Thanx! My absolute favourite is Headlong! :-)
@mariejohnson2195 жыл бұрын
So here's a big question... is he playing a back-up guitar for Headlong? The "Red Special" does not drop the tremolo like this guitar was. I also noticed this in the movie Bohemian Rhapsody where Gwilym Lee was fighting with the tremolo all through the Live Aid set - where it kept dropping down out of reach. Bri uses the tremolo a lot - he often has his little finger hooked around it. I bet this was a back-up guitar - he must have broken a strng to be using it.
@mariejohnson2195 жыл бұрын
@RSM Of course, I'd totally forgotten. Thanks. :)
@merlinthomi5 жыл бұрын
In headlong, he is using a replica of his RS made by Guild guitars. He uses it because the song is in Drop D tuning, and the RS doesn't take quick tuning changes well, as its got a floating tremolo.
@bassieredspecial4 жыл бұрын
@Marie Johnson. If you mean the tremolo arm dropping, the original has that also as sometimes during heavy tremolo use the bolt on top can loosen itself. I saw this happen on Bri's Brighton Rock solo in 1992 in Spain that is somewhere on KZbin as well. The Guild guitar he uses here on Headlong and Love Token is a Guild Prototype of the second generation of Guild BHM guitars. Clairly the Seymour Duncan pickyps are not implemented yet (still the black BHM DiMarzios) the Schaller roller bridge is black, the nut is white and the tremolo arm also differs from the commercial release. The one he plays during the last part of BoRhap with the black headstock is the one he got around 1983/1984, a prototype of the first generation of BHM guilds that he also used during Queen concerts at that time as a spare.
