Nice! One of my favorites at the Hydrocut!
@DaleStone5 жыл бұрын
The Hydrocut is pretty rad in general! I see you're from the area and have a few videos of it on your channel. Excited to see some more Southern Ontario youtube content.

Dale Stone yeah man! I’m around London so the Hyrdrocut is pretty much the best system within about an hour drive of home

holy crap, so much flow for an Ontario trail, I really need to check this place out.
@DaleStone4 жыл бұрын
Hydrocut is the go-to forest for easy blue square flow. Not many places do it better!
@bikeninja9564 жыл бұрын
@@DaleStone oh man, no doubt by the looks of it, literally the most flow I have ever seen outside of DH ski resorts... it's cool how it's all natural terrain with little vert, just enough undulation to keep things moving. Amazing.

Makes it look so easy....I am riding this same side of Hydrocuts with a Gt aggressor pro, hardtail - the rocks/roots are killer on the wrists

Would a 2020 Trek Marlin 5 (SR Suntour XCE 28 100mm travel, Tourney TY300) be able to handle the Hydrocut trail for a beginner biker?
@DaleStone4 жыл бұрын
It would be able to handle some of the easier trails for sure! Reliability will be your main concern with a lower end coil sprung fork and a triple crankset.
@thomasanderson59294 жыл бұрын
@@DaleStone Thanks for the response! Would the reliability of the TY300 groupset be an issue even on the easier trails?

Dale Stone thanks! How was it in steep inclines?
@DaleStone4 жыл бұрын
It performed really well on those. The seat tube angle allows you to keep your weight centered on the climbs and feels a lot more efficient for laying down the power in a comfortable way.

Would you say Hydrocut is some of the better trails in the GTA? I just moved to Guelph so this is nice and close to me.
@DaleStone4 жыл бұрын
I would say so. I rode a ton of Hydrocut out of necessity during uni but it is easily a world class XC spot. Once Hydrocut gets to easy you should try out Twin Ponds (which is closer too). The thing that's pretty cool about Guelph is that there is an insane amount of trail variety with a 30 minute drive in any direction. Rocks, hills, flow, XC... Pretty good spot for riding.

Video quality is excellent! What settings are you recording in on the gopro? Are you using a gimbal chest mount?
@DaleStone5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris! I shoot everything with a Karma grip to stabilize things. Video settings are usually 2.7k superview at 60fps.

Thanks for posting this and other amazing riding videos! I live in Toronto and am planning a biking trip in late spring with a friend to Kitchener/Waterloo. The Bride seems like a must ride trail, what else would you recommend we check out for a day trip? Is Kitchener/Waterloo your favourie riding spot in Ontario? I'd like to get out to Quebec this year, but there seems to be a good amount of trails in Cambridge, Guelph, Blue Mountain, Horseshoe Valley, Buckwallow, Hardwood Ski and Bike, and others that would make for a great day trip.
@DaleStone4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Cameron! Hydrocut is great because there is a main loop that takes you through just about every trail in around 26km (1.5-3 hours depending on your pace). Definitely doable in a day. If you want amazing XC trails than there isn't anywhere better than Hydrocut. When it comes to my favourite stuff it would definitely be Hilton Falls first (super technical rocky goodness, and closer to Toronto for you!), Waterdown second (for the cardio punishment) and Twin Ponds third (since it's a good mix between the two and there is a main loop like Hydrocut). Try everywhere you can!
