Full stop: the right and the left are both needed. A "right wing" only America isn't going to be as great as some may think and nor would a left-wing America. Both sides of the aisle have GOOD solutions and GOOD people who are genuinely interested in making the best country. I'm a liberal who supports 2A. I support self-defense of self and property. I also support not having a situation where poor people aren't having to beg on the streets for a basic roof over their head, clothes on their back, and food in their belly. It doesn't mean I think they need to live in a McMansion and drive a brand new Escalade with eat caviar for breakfast. If you're a POS criminal, there's jail or worse. I disagree. It's also arguably the most important weapon against tyranny we have ever created. Before the internet, the only information you had access to were whatever books you had access to in your local library (which may or may not be out of date and had an equal chance of giving you incorrect information), and whatever your government-controlled media showed you. The internet, just like guns, is not inherently good or bad. It's simply a tool. If it's made your life worse, that's your fault for not learning how to use it correctly. I agree that most people don't know how to use it correctly, but I believe there will be enough of us who do some day to be able to teach future generations how to navigate it easier. You must simply fight intellectual laziness and learn how to do proper research in a scientific manner. As long as you keep those things in mind, you'll be alright.

Perfection is dangerous. A good take came from Ed Fowler, a Montana resident and knife maker, also a mastersmith. He did an article called "the last scratch". It was published in whatever world leading knife rag at the time. The premise was him making a budget version of his custom knives. He starts spending time, making the knife just a little better. If you want to see a perfect example of social engineering that just about everyone can grasp, try watching Friends first with the laugh track on, then with it edited out. You'll quickly realize that none of the jokes are actually funny, but the laugh track makes you subconsciously want to join in with the laughter.

Reminds me of when my friend first started doing stand up comedy. I just went in the crowd and laughed as hard as I could fake. He said he performed better when I was there. Turns out, my fake laughs made others laugh. Others laughing made him perform better.

@@bofa83 two things. One, I loved Friends as a kid and it kinda bummed me out when I watched it with the laugh track edited out. Two, not all of that show is filmed in front of a live studio audience, they absolutely use a laugh track and even the segments that are they cue the audience to laugh, clap or aww at certain times (I've been in the live studio audience of a couple of shows).

i’d look up the Our Lady of the Angels school fire in reference to the conversation piece at 52 minutes. when i was in the fire academy we go over that in length, and to this day you can trace a lot of SOPs we have to that day.

I love Travis. One of my biggest role models growing up and who I watched religiously while I was in the military. His ambition is what inspired me to train and be a leader. I proudly rock his Dragonfly patches on my gear to this day. He honestly raised and inspired an entire generation of future gunfighters.
