I think it's hard to compare cause most of the times I've heard Pasquale and O'Hara, I've heard them with microphones and sound balancing, this footage is in a rehearsal room with no sound mixing or anything. That being said, I am a huge Pasquale and O'Hara fan, and love their voices sooo much, but I'm just trying to be fair to what are probably some excellent singers who might be much stronger than this tape suggests!

My main problem with nearly every "Bridges" production is that the character of Robert is played too young and doesn't have that worldly, weathered quality that is so obvious in the book. In the musical he's reduced to a pretty, hunky guy in his late 30s with a boring, pretty voice.

I like what Elizabeth Stanley did here vocally better than what Kelli O'Hara does. Kelli is obviously a fantastic classical singer, but I hate when she uses her broadway-inflected, pseudo-operatic nasally mix as she does in Bridges and Light in the Piazza.

Having seen the show twice in February, I've got to call your comment wrong; not the part about it not feeling the same, but about her voice not fitting; it's just different, but she certainly fits. I love the original cast recording, but these two had no problem completely taking me over, and making this theirs (which of course takes nothing away from Kelli O. and Steven P.). I will concede that this recording, lovely as it is, doesn't equal what was on stage in Dallas, where I saw them; that's to be expected.

I shall take you're word for it having not seeing the touring production and this being one of my only views into said production. it's just I ended up seeing the bway production after seeing the video of Kelly recording Almost Real, and then Kelly and Steven recording this song. there performance was utterly captivating from just a video. this one didn't do that for at first. it's good though
