It's good to see a reservist doing KZbin! I'm in the middle of trying to get in as a Port Operator/RLC at my local reserve unit. I'm currently waiting to get a blood test for sickle cell trace. Basically, I got medically deferred on 23ed November, as I've got Egyptian heritage. From what I've been told, the army has had recruits (mainly Africans) collapse and die during PT sessions. This sickle cell thing can cause organ failure. But on the positive note, I got 45 points on the cognitive test, compare to the 16 previously. And for my previous fitness tests I got, Med ball throw - 3.9m 1.2 mile run - 9.43 Mid thigh pull - 140KG I did try selection on October 2019, but got deferred on the team tasks, due to lack of confidence working as a team. But luckily, due to the covid restrictions, I don't have to worry about the teams tasks. Once the blood test is squared away, I will only need to go up for the fitness. Keep up the good work with your videos 🙂 I thinks it's about time more reservists start putting out KZbin. Comparing from when I was trying to join the regulars a few years ago, to now joining to reserves, I think the reserves are under appreciated over the regulars.

@yeoman25513 жыл бұрын
A lot of young lads n lasses in this comment section. If you want to know about what’s happening with your application or what happens WHEN you apply. Contact your local unit! Recruiters both regular and reserve are more than happy to talk about what they do. It’s their bread and butter. She is absolutely right about GPs being a pain in the dick, then of course little problems that ‘pop-up’. My advice, as a recruiter, this new module system of training for reserves is amazing. Please get in touch with your recruitment team to ensure your application is getting the proper attention. The army will do as much as humanly possible for you. Absolutely cracking effort from this lass for documenting her early start in the process. But of course the training staff at AC are going to be harsh and effective, they need to know you have the resilience to deal with being harshly treated.

thank you! it's all basic C/B GCSE maths. so fractions, equations, algebra, time/distance/speed, percentages, area, volume, ratio, angles of a triangle - probs some more but that's what i can remember. they give you a calculator and it's multiple choice.

“it took me like four weeks to get that done” (medical documents) i’ve been waiting for my learners license for 3 months, it isn’t army related but it’s starting to really piss me off.

Awseome vid and good insight to how the day is run during Covid. Was the cognitive test much different to the "Act practise test" that's on the website? Thanks!
