Y'all really don't know how these brothers enhanced the R&B/Funk/Soul music of the 70s. Their first album released in 1976 gave us 'I'll Be Good to You' and 'Get the Funk Out Ma Face' and all of us teens lost our minds. They followed that up the next year with the album 'Right on Time' releasing the hit 'Strawberry Letter 23'. They were 'discovered' by the one and only Quincy Jones. This music is legendary. Don't miss out🤗🤗💃💃💃

People were skating to disco, especially in 1979 when the group Chic was really popular. "Good Times" was a fun skating song.

Asia, you are so right girl. I was 16 when that song came out. We would skate to the extended version of "Stomp," and try to skate ourselves through the rink. Fun days. The Brothers Johnson were real brothers. Louis, the darker one, played the bass and was considered one of the best players in music. His brother George, the lighter one, played lead guitar and lead vocals. They worked with Quincy in Jazz music before they had this break out album. Check out "STRAWBERRY LETTER," by them.😂😂❤😊

You guys need to see the Brothers Johnson perform this in person. They both play awesome guitars, as you can hear. Also, I think Asia would love "Strawberry Letter 23'. That one came out on a 45 and the envelope it was in smelled like strawberries. And another awesome hit by BJ (hey, another BJ!) was "I'll be Good to You". This song was 1980, so it was just coming out of the disco era; they were coming into their own. RIP Louis. x

Imo about disco, it was cool, a trend that took place from the mid 70’s to 1979, but to black people ( and others ) it was just other people joining in because we had been dancing to music like this all along, clubs, parties and other places. They had American Bandstand and Soul Train before The Disco Era. And Disco Era made it trendy for others that really wasn’t into dance, R/b or Funk music. In other words some people were dancing before and after the Disco Era. When you see the videos of people trashing the disco records and saying “ we hate Disco“ and “Disco is dead” then it may have been for them, but for us we were still grooving right along to our Funk and dance music, we never stopped. Just my opinion.
