Nice reaction to a very dope song. The other song you did from them was called Stomp!. DJ Quik's Safe & Sound sampled this song as have many other rappers. Shuggie Otis did this song first when he was only 18 years old in 1971 and played all the instruments on it. His version is the best in my mind. Shuggie Otis is an artist that you should check out.

Shuggie Otis did the first version which was nice, but the guitars in this, both the plucked/slap bass and the guitar arpeggio's make this the classic version. Of course, since his girl sent him Strawberry (probably scented) Letter 22, this is Letter 23 in response to hers. To me it's both funny and tragic when you always say "Who stole from this song. Let me see, I can't remember".

2 brothers, George on guitar and his brother Lewis on bass aka Thunder thumbs. Iconic bass player. He also is the bassist on Michael Jackson Beat it album and the 1 before that. Mike loved him on bass. You need to find a video or Lewis playing and you will see why he's called Thunder Thumbs.

‘No Love, No Hearts’, Big Sean. Their other big hit was ‘Stomp’, which I’m sure was produced by Quincy Jones, & probably written by Rod Temperton who wrote Thriller, Off the Wall, etc. Louis (shorter hair), definitely made his Mark with his thumb & plucking skills, which you can hear more of on Stomp, as there’s like a break down that features the bass. He became an in demand studio player, as well as working closely with Quincy Jones’ projects, whatever he was doing: Michael Jackson, the whole Off the Wall album, Thirller & George Benson’s ‘Give Me The Night’, which also features some of Louis’ personal style. He has a brief part in the Spike Lee project, Michael Jackson: From Motown to Off the Wall.

As Stated Before The song was originally recorded and written by a Man Name Shuggie Otis (Prince Before There ever was Prince) The Story behind this song was that was of the Brothers is Shuggie's Brother In Law and it was actually his Wedding Song to the marriage to Shuggies Sister. You should definitely check out out Shuggies Album " Inspiration Information" it has a song you should react to That Beyonce did not just sample she sang over the song "Rainy Day for her song "Gift From Virgo"

This isn't the original! I get your point, although I'm not sure I buy it - but do check out the original by Shuggie Otis. It's much less polished, a bit ramshackle, to me more soulful, and I prefer it to this, good though the Brothers Johnson's take is.
