Point of correction: Nothing predates the religion of Islam. Allah(swt) states in the Quran, Chapter 51, Verse 56: "And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me." To suggest that culture predates religion betrays ignorance of the fact that all living things that Allah(swt) created were commanded to worship Him(swt).

It is banned & violators must/should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. None of these extremists men would like to be castrated would they ? FGM causes permanent health issues for women no man can ever experience. These religious extremists ( including Fatty ) are blatantly ignoring science & embracing archaic & barbaric rituals to control, abuse & dictate how women should live their lives.

Gambia is a Secular Democratic Republic( ref:the constitution) , despite being a majority Muslim country doesn’t mean the far right muslim extremists in the country like Fatty & Gibba can simply impose their traditional/cultural/customs or rituals on Girls . Castration is considered inhumane just as FGM is fatally flawed & inhumane. There’s it a single positive reason for it except for personal gratification, control & riding Fear .#WomensRights#HumanRights .
