Thanks so much for reviving a dying art and passing it on to the young women of today. I'm 58 and I remember my (much) older sister setting my hair in a wet set for special occasions, like my yearly school pictures, or parties. Watching you brings back such happy memories of my sister. She was so kind to me. I really appreciate the brush-out information, I never got that hang of that. Please continue to be awesome.

This is such a great video for all of us , but especially for those of us still learning . So many of us have set our hair in rollers , or pin curls , slept on them all night , and then in the morning , when we start to do the brush out , we find we have a frizzy hair do , and get frustrated and wash it . Watching this video you show us how the hair goes through the transformation of the brush out , from frizzy to the finished vintage style that we were trying to achieve . You're so talented :)

Oh this turned out so beautiful . I love the hair styles that are done with rollers or pin curls . They are my favorite . I just love the transformations that our hair goes through from un-rolling the curlers or pin curls , to the brush out - start to finish . Really during that brush out , the curls just change so much , and I really love watching that part , and to see what we finally end up with . Love this tutorial . I get super happy when I see a wet set tutorial come along . Beautiful !!

Thank you for this! I've always been scared to brush out curls with a boar bristle brush because I thought it would just make it crazy and poufy! After watching this I went for it, and it smoothed the hair wonderfully. I didn't realize before this video that after brushing them out I could use my hands with a little hair oil on them to recurl the hair and tame any frizz. Amazing!! Can't believe I didn't know that before.

I have watched your wet foam roller set and this current video and finally decided to give it a go yesterday night. This morning I took out the rollers, watched this video again and gave my hair a good brushing. I am not very patient with my hair that is why I have not tried it before. I guess the patience was worth it this morning...got me plenty of compliments. I do think my hair is too thin for the size I used but I will get that fixed with bigger rollers. I used liquid silk to help tame the frizz and liquid spray gel as a setting lotion...and the curls held on all day, including the first car ride with window's down this year (Montreal....cold!). Thank you very much for your funny go-getter video's!! Love them!!
@JenniferElise10 жыл бұрын
Yay!!! :D I tend to use my larger rollers a lot more as well...I'll just lightly roll the hair around the roller and in the morning I get strong but not as tight curls (makes for easier brushing out).

Thanks for the reply! :D I left it to dry a bit when I came out the shower then put the rollers in. Rollers are 1'' my hair is just off my shoulders too. I tried a spray gel this time (didnt have gel in at the time) maybe it would would best with a jelly gel? My hair is useless at curling when I use a curling wand by the time I have gone around my head the first lot are already falling out :( maybe i should invest in a curly wig! LOL

If the curls are falling due to sweat I would suggest leaving the front curlers in until you've styled the rest of the hair then release and style them. I would also suggest trying a some different setting lotions/gels to help hold the curl in your hair. It may also help to put a fan on your counter to help keep the sweat down when your styling. I hope some of that helps! :D
@JenniferElise11 жыл бұрын
Are you using a setting lotion? I would definitely try a setting lotion or any type of curl defining gel or cream. I really like Vintage Glam's Curling Iron Cream from Sally Beauty and Sexy Hair's Curly Sexy Curling Crème. Also since your hair is thick I would do smaller curlers and perhaps try smaller sections. If you set at 9pm they should be ready in the morning.

If it doesn't have layers yes. The weight of the hair is more likely to pull out the curl. Have a couple of long layers cut and that should help you out alot. I Love Geraldo has extremely long hair and does vintage looks, I highly suggest giving her a watch as well! :D

The curl plus the different colors in your hair at this stage is really really neat, even more so after the brush-out. Very instructive; I have a few foam rollers and need to try this with such conditions of dampness and keeping in mind the size of the sections of hair. I love insane curls, though, so I might stop at early brush-out or just before! Addendum: The colors are great at every stage! I stick to boring/natural colors but love the different shades of pink here.
@JenniferElise10 жыл бұрын
kendalchen :D That was at the beginning of my pink days when I was still trying to get rid of the red! I'd love to hear how your foam roller experiments go!

So far I had unimpressive results BEFORE this video and much better results after watching, the one time I had the chance to be a little less...haphazard. I did get the dents, but I was super-tired, so I expected that result. I'm clearly not using enough product to really get them to stay, plus I take at least one nap per day or I pass out watching stuff, and my curls are currently no match for that. There's a topic: Roll upkeep for people who are half-narcoleptic!
@JenniferElise10 жыл бұрын
kendalchen To avoid those dents roll the plastic arm so it's not on top of the hair and pin it in place. :D The best thing I can think of is a hair net...that might help keep them in!
