I owned a BSA MK2 R10 Elite in grey laminate and it was a very lovely rifle very quiet very accurate out to 40 yards - oddly I always felt the rifle never got the full praise it deserved

I still think the BSA R10 is king as far as BSA rifles are concerned and they have a great following. I would recomend one to anyone, and they are very competative compaired to the other options out there. The cold hammer forged barrel will have a lot to do with it as well. Their barrels can take on the German Walther barrels from what they acheive.

Airgun Sniper-Elite that’s very true however BSA don’t seem to have the public following like FX or Daystate and they seem to dogged by stories the guns were always designed with much better specs only for BSA to reduce the parts prior to launch so a lot of BSA owners then feel they need to get them blueprinted etc . For the money I think the r10 mk2 can’t be beaten on value

@@markdance574 yes, Daystate, Brocock, FX, Air Arms are all well advertised on KZbin and the Airgun magazines and if you look at a lot of the Worlds KZbinrs they all seem to be working alongside FX at the moment, so not many other rifles get a look in. It's a shame really because there are a lot of other good options out there that people tend to overlook. The East European Country's seem to be fighting back now with Edgun, Zbroia, Vulcan, plus the Chinese are now bringing out some great PCPs as well.

Airgun Sniper-Elite I agree but I would go on to say Iv had a huge Daystate collection, most of which were very rare and that for me added some extra interest- the Daystate Grand Prix was easily the best followed by the mk4 IS the trigger and release times were amazing . The problem with today’s world is it’s all about advertising and influencing opinions - there’s virtually nowhere we a customer can go to test fire rifles prior to purchase so reviews and those opinions play a big part .

My friend I have been following you for some time now and dont mean to upset you When I used to shoot the shoot and see targets my groups were a bit like yours i noticed if I scratch a smal dot in the middle of the shoot and see target it give me a fantastic place to but my crosshairs For mr consistent shots keep up the good work plz hope this makes some sense my friend (si) What I do now is shoot 1 pellet To make a mark the target That's what I shoot at the pellet hole
@airgunsniper-elite73854 жыл бұрын
Yes, I know what you mean. My best result was doing just that if you look at the target where I came back to the H&N Baracuda Match in the middle of the target. The bloody stock being loose meant I couldn't get a concistant as I would have liked.

Stock loose or not , the "JSB " rangemaster sovs show that there the benchmark in accuracy , too which the others must aspire too .. you've done these pellets in loads of rifles over the years ( was gonna say months , but time has flown ) and rime and time again they have proved to be the " go to " pellet for hunting, due to there consistency , and / or , target comp in breezy ( in particular ) conditions ... im quite taken by those H&N pellets though .. ive never tried that particular pellet , may just give them a shot ( pun intended ) still not convinced with the Hades (.177) .. though ... Just got back from Wales ( Elan Valley ) grey squirrels running amok outside hotel ... could have had a dustbin bag full BEFORE we went down for brekkies .. aint got enough room on motorcycle for a rifle though ... and couldn't leave the mrs behind , she paid ..

Yes, I have to say the Daystate Sov 10.3 are hard to beat, and the H&N Baracuda match are a great Bisley Magnum substitute. Just pissed off that the stock was loose, because this would have had its affect on the outcome.

Nice can you do the Pulsar 177!? Which pellets in 177 have you found to bring the greatest ballistic coefficient, you have obviously tried loads of brands
@airgunsniper-elite73854 жыл бұрын
In .177 the Daystate Rangemaster Sovereign at 10.3 grain are the pellet of choice for efficiency. Daystate use them during chronograph testing. I have found that they give the best power ratio even over the Bisley Magnum and H&N Baracuda Match that are 10.65 grains by around 1/2 a ft/lb or more in a sub 12 ft/lb rifle.

Is that R10 a off the rack rifle with with factory settings or has it been modified and tuned . I have had 2 R10se rifles and found them both not as accurate as the HW100 they replaced. Keep posting always interesting watching your tests👍

Yes, I am glad with my R10 buy. I have found that most of the BSA brand and even the new Gamo PCPs are great value and very competative for the price. If they shoot well, why pay three times as much. I'd rather have three that shoot well than one that costs a fortune, and can still have problems with leaks and things. I suppose it's all about choice and what you want.

Loving your vids.. May i ask which scope do you have on the R10? Thanks Rodger

Hello Sir, I would humbly think that by any standards, to hit a 5p target at fifty yards with a 12ftlb air rifle ia great shooting and accuracy by any standards. Fifty yards is a long way in terms of what you are doing and trying to achieve.. Great film and thank you for care and effort.

Bisley shoot great in my ultra se, but the further out I shoot the worst they get, looked like that with your r10

Yes, that's quite possible. My Brococks and my Sons Daystate Wolverine love them, and do well at 50 yards.

That BSA is not that pellet fussy at all, groups looked nice. Have you tried JSB heavies?! 10.34gr Well, I received the ext. Regulator from Altaros for the S200! I was so pumped up to get it going, but heck, I can not get the brass end off!!! I even tried with the tool that Huma sells especially for the S200 air cylinder!! Putting it in the vise, and used a very large spanner, but I guess I'm not strong enough to break it open. I mean I've heard that they come from the factory like that, and then once you unthread it out, you can just basically hand tighten it back on. Arrggg, it's such a helpless feeling to want to put that upgrade on, but it's just NOT budging!! :( Any tips before I do something REALLY wrong! Lol
@airgunsniper-elite73854 жыл бұрын
Yes, they fit the exhaust valves much too tight. I think it must be done by machine. In reality they don't need to be much more than hand tight, as the thread length and o ring are enough to keep the valve safe and airtight. I had the same problem as you. If you can't find a. Strong enough hollow tube for extra leverage, you'll have to hit the tool with a hammer like I did to start it off.
@falkirk84134 жыл бұрын
Same problem mate the thing is if you lock it up in the vice get the tool and the big spanner on then give it a sharp sudden whack on the spanner with a mallet or deadblow hammer it normally breaks the factory seal so to speak I would advise rubber jaw inserts on the vice to avoid damaging the cylinder good luck mate

Seems like a fantastic accurate piece of kit, but the end of the air cylinder looks like a bean tin , spoils the looks of the gun for me Mark ,,, great shooting Shane ,, thumbs up 👍

No offense Cousin, but I do believe my R10 MK2 shoots better than yours. I think possibly it's the rifle, not the shooter. For you Sir, are one heck of a shot!!!! BSA made ours to shoot at FAC levels, up to 30 ft/lb energy. Mine does that at 18.13 gr diablo pellets at 870 fps.average. At 40 yards in winds up to 45 miles/hr, mine took 9 of 10 shots at .22 LR shells as targets and put them down with the 0.22 BSA R10 MK2, took me only another shot to chase off the other shell. I think it was a combination of velocity and weight to keep them straight and hit the mark. You British make one hell-of-a-good air rifle!!!! Please keep making them, and export them to us "Yanks". We "Yanks" simply increase the output power and have to "tinker" with the twist rate, or ask for it to be increased for what we use them for. GREAT video!!!! Beside what the media may say, we "Yanks" love you, our cousins across the pond!!!! Have a nice day!
@airgunsniper-elite73853 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jeff, Yes, those cold hammer forged barrels of BSA are something to beat, and probably only come close with the CZ barrel. With the extra power from FAC, or no limit rifles, it helps to flatten out the shot curve and help buck the windy conditions. Hopefully get my FAC sometime in the future so that I can review the full powered versions of all the rifles out there.
