Such truth bomb for those immature fans....who think their K-pop oppa unnies are happy 24/7 and doing everything "willingly" and doing everything bcuz they "love it"....where in reality there's actually a lot of acting, pretending going on in the K-pop world.......those laughing , enjoyment are too much(sometimes crying even) "scripted"..... I once got so many hate comments for saying one Idol was pretending to be "too happy".. where his body language looked super different....but them dillusional fans only can commented hate for me instead of trying overlook the possible situation...

jason toms I rarely watch TV (USA) and don’t listen to American music anymore (like Kpop, trot, kdramas, korean variety shows). If America had a show like Weekly Idol or Happy Together or Running Man, I don’t think it would succeed. There aren’t enough celebrities to go on the show and the average age is much older (American celebrities) than in Korea. Plus, I have zero interest in the life of American celebrities like Taylor Swift, Reanna, Demi Lavato, etc. (so hard to even come up with those names since I don’t follow American entertainment). The American version of King of Masked Singer has little resemblance to the Korean version. I watched part of the first episode and then lost interest in it.

The "If you're going to dip after a bad day doesn't that defeat the purpose of being a fan?" bit really got me. Rather than an increase in sensitivity, I think there's just a lack of maturity in some fans and a large sense of entitlement. Idols are people and you can still like them if mistakes happen, like damn it's okay. And I know people love to talk about if a show is scripted or not, but honestly an unscripted show would be a nightmare to film, and like you said it already takes most of a day to get an hour and change out of something outlined. It doesn't really mean the shows are fake either, some people/bits gotta fake it obviously, but I feel like part of the art of these kind of shows is getting your natural personality to blend well with your showbiz persona. it's for sure what helps groups get popular.
@jesskhan094 жыл бұрын
Do idols actually like their group mates? A lot of the time idol groups always promote to be like family or we are like brother & sisters. But then something happens. Eg EXO. Which hurts the image. What happens when someone eclipse other members in the whole group. Eg Hyuna. How do the members really deal with this?

Very interesting. Thank you. I've found some of jokes and witticisms on the shows much less as amusing as they appear to be to the hosts and guests--but quite a lot of that is due to cultural differences, for sure. @JK-et6jq4 жыл бұрын
Variety shows would not work in America for artists. Simply because idols and artists are different in nature, as well as the culture of idols in Korea. A lot of variety shows almost have a system to be able to promote idols and vice versa, where the idols promote the variety show. Also the culture of idols is a lot more saturated and Korea is a much smaller country, companies are producing idols systematically, which is very different from America. Nobody would watch a variety show in America for artists unless they are A-list celebrities, but A-list celebrities don't really benefit much nor do they have the time. I reckon that is why variety shows that do not involve celebrities are more popular in America but definitely there is not much variety.

I suspect talk shows are fairly cheap to produce. You have a set location, so you don't have to worry about the set or the tech breaking down. You can control the environment really well. That also means you don't need to scout locations and there won't be a lot of logistical issues. Something like Running Man, with constantly changing games, various sets and overall, with a huge production machine to make an episode, that will have to cost a lot more. I'm a big fan of comedy panel shows. The Brits are the best at those. Shows like Would I Lie to You, Mock the Week and so on, they're just pure gold. Do Koreans make shows like these, and would localization work for them?

I mean punishments don't have to be painful or humiliating. Some might disagree but on knowing bros, when the punishment is pouring water on the one who lost I think that's a good, more extreme punishment that doesn't hurt and I'm pretty sure that both the MCs and the production staff take into account if someone can't get wet bc of other scheduled things after the shoot or in cases of phobias, sometimes the MCs even take on the punishment even though they didn't lose and make it funnier. I also feel like everyone's kinda moving away from more violent punishments cause it's not as acceptable anymore and a good portion of idols are also minors. I also feel like those "fans" who jump ship to another group over the most ridiculously minute things shouldn't be called fans and shouldn't in any way represent any fan ever. Those kinds of people have no respect for their idols and I feel like they only look at them as pretty dancing monkeys. That's not what a fan is. Those people are a minority and shouldn't linger in anyone's memory.

Hi so i have a question... How do idols record songs in studios? Like what do you so when you get in there?? Do you read your music in partitude? Do you just read printed words? How is the recording process??? Thank you so much for idol insider💜💜 really helps a lot
@oliverhughes6104 жыл бұрын
There is quite a lot of footage of idols recording! It definitely seems to vary between company and if the idols were involved in their own songwriting or not. Tiffany recording at JYP was interesting to watch, for instance. You can also see I.O.I. recording, (G)I-DLE, Mamamoo recording their songs. I can tell you how it would go normally - each member would record their part separately. The sound engineer/producer would need several 'takes' to ensure they get the right/best one. The parts would not necessarily be recorded in order, but sometimes the initial recordings would be, and then members would be called back to re-record their part(s) where necessary. If a member has lines in multiple verses and a chorus, for instance, they might record each one of those parts consecutively, but not singing the entire song. Some artists will have printed lyrics if they need them, usually on a sheet which also has notes from the songwriter/producer/engineer, but others can remember them and don't like to have their eyes open whilst singing. It depends on the individuals a lot. I hope this was a little helpful! I'm very interested in the process too.

@@오수민-g9d I'll be working in management/staffing, so perhaps our paths will cross again! Imagine how cool it would be if you became an idol and I became your manager... But yes, the process for recording songs is pretty standard across the board as far as I can tell. There's a neat couple of videos called 'I Made' that shows Soyeon from (G)I-DLE writing/producing their songs for a mini album as well as the demo recording (which she does herself) and then the actual recording with the group members - it might be helpful for you to see what that process is like for a self-producing group.
