@EgoPodcastenglish8 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment, Peachtreee! You’ve highlighted a significant aspect of Buddhism-that it is often viewed more as a path of understanding and practice rather than a religion in the conventional sense. Indeed, Buddha was a human being who attained enlightenment and then shared his insights on the nature of suffering, its causes, and the path to liberation. Your description of Buddhism as a way for spiritual beings to gain experience and evolve to a higher level captures the essence of the Buddha’s teachings, which encourage personal development through ethical living, meditation, and wisdom. This approach empowers individuals to explore and understand their true nature and the nature of reality. It’s always enriching to discuss these aspects of Buddhism, which open up various interpretations and applications in our lives. If you have more insights on how Buddhism has influenced your understanding or practices, or if you’d like to explore specific teachings further, I’d love to continue this conversation. Your perspective enriches our discussion and helps others see the diverse ways Buddhism can be integrated into daily life.

To clear out clutter and have space is one thing… To be totally surrounded by clutter, and know that the clutter is also empty that’s the bomb. And if you realize that all desires are empty, there is no need to discard them, and the enjoyment will be unbelievable… An ice cream cone and $1 billion penthouse with all the extras will be the same.
@EgoPodcastenglish9 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing such a deep insight into the nature of emptiness and desire from a Buddhist perspective. Your comment beautifully captures the essence of the Buddhist teaching on ‘śūnyatā’ or emptiness-that all phenomena are devoid of intrinsic existence, and even our desires and the clutter around us are part of this emptiness. This understanding can indeed transform how we perceive and interact with the world. Your point about not needing to discard desires but recognizing their empty nature and thus enjoying them without attachment is particularly powerful. It reflects the advanced practice of seeing the equality of all things, whether simple pleasures like an ice cream cone or extravagant ones like a penthouse. This non-dualistic view frees us from the bounds of typical cravings and aversions, leading to a more profound, equanimous enjoyment of life. I appreciate your bringing this perspective into our discussion-it’s a reminder of the liberating potential of Buddhist teachings when deeply understood and applied. If you have more thoughts or experiences on applying these principles in daily life, I’d love to continue this conversation. Let’s delve deeper into how these teachings can be lived out practically, enhancing our understanding and experience of life’s every aspect.

Religion vs Spirituality (true self-nature) • Religion: worships God. • Spirituality: seek to unfold one's wisdom. • Religion: God is outside of you. • Spirituality: True self-nature is within you. • Religion: separates people who have different beliefs. • Spirituality: we are one entity, regardless of beliefs. • Religion: teaches people to be afraid of hell. • Spirituality: teaches people to create heaven on Earth. • Religion: based on fear and restriction. • Spirituality: based on great compassion and freed of superstitions. • Religion: you are a single drop in the ocean. • Spirituality: you are the entire ocean in a single drop. (enlightened) • Religion: based on others' experience. • Spirituality: based on your personal experience.

Gosh such a lot of misunderstanding. Worship of God is because of spirituality. We are God's children. He is in us from the beginning. Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life. That's it. The command to Love as you love yourself is spirituality. Hell is the seperation from our creator. That is a very fearful thing to consider. It should scare your spirit. For God has said " I do not give you a spirit of fear" Jesus Christ came to set us free. He did. We are created in the image of God. God is not an ocean. He is a Spirit. The Holy Spirit enters your body and you are transformed from within. The only way is to personally experience it. I'm sorry sinful man has destroyed your faith in God. Jesus Christ offers a relationship... Not a religion. Spirituality is nothing but prideful sin. We are only "spiritual" because God put His spirit in our clay bodies. Jesus loves you and wants to connect to you personally.❤
