Jags are awful they break all the time. If you tune them they fall apart so much. I've own 2014 vw gti, 2015 Mercedes gla 45, 2017 audi rs3, and a 2022 bmw m5. Plus jags are so slow for the price. My bmw does quarter miles in 10.8 also my audi rs3 does quarter miles in 11.7 which is faster than that jag. That jag does quarter miles in 11.9. It's sad that a 400hp audi is faster than 575hp jag. My buddy had that f type and it broke so often. Same with his other Jag. Also electric cars are awful and a long story.

Dude. You built a magical video here. You expressed enthusiasm for the F Type commensurate with its heritage. You did the same in a more reserved teutonic manner. You are quite talented and intelligent. Well done and keep up the great reviews. Me? Old guy whose dream car at 16 was a 1968 Jaguar XKE in British Racing Green. Now, after a career as a Marine Corps officer and an oil and gas exploration geophysicist I can land 2023 Jaguar F Type in BRG with a couple of thousand miles on it for ^9 to 72 k. I'm a happy man. Cheers my friend.

Of all the things that can be said and delved into about cars, this guy here is succinct and seems to hit on the cardinal points. Mercedes is a bit more on the luxury range of the spectrum, while Jaguar (and BMW) is more on the sport experience, and it is interesting how you feel faster in some cars, even if you aren't (MGB GT's of the 1960's). Then there are Corvettes for speed freaks, but anyone who knows how to work engines can go much quicker. Hope you are in a drop-top!

@@Thq-ff8wz so I always see mixed reviews about the reliability of Jaguar. Back in 2020 I purchased a brand new Jaguar E-Pace for my wife and she put about 50k miles on it in about 3 years before she traded it in for a bigger SUV. She only traded it in because we needed a bigger SUV keep in mind. During those 3 years 50k miles not a single issue. 😜😜😜True story back in the day I bought new 1983 Jaguar XJS 12 cylinder coupe. I was going to trade it in on another car and sales manager said you will do better selling it private party. Put ad in newspaper-yes this was the 80s. Got call from professor from Long Beach State University and he came to see the car. He asked if could go by his mechanic to check the car. They talked quietly and after he came to me and said the mechanic was worried because of evidence of chronic oil leak. He asked if we could go by the dealer where I bought and serviced the car. The dealer mechanic put on lift and when asked by the potential buyer and mechanic replied in heavy accented English "This one has leak but better than most and they all leak". At the end of the day we made a deal and sold the car. Sorry for the long comment!

Two comments on your review: 1) yes, the Meridian sound system in the F-Type isn’t the greatest, but I honestly can’t remember when I turned the radio on in my 2021 F-Type R…the exhaust note is my soundtrack. 2) The simple fix for people who want the sub 3500 RPM roar and all the pops and bangs of the post 2021 F-types, is to pull the active exhaust fuse. I did it, and will never go back. No modifications necessary!

My friend has a 23 F-Type and I have a 22 G82 M4C and we switched for a drive up Kings Canyon here in SoCal. I thought I'd be disappointed and it was the opposite. The sound alone makes my M4 sound like Bambi(though I'm hoping to change that a bit when my Akra comes in). I just think it's great that we have more choices at this level for performance coupes. I do know it's all coming to and end for ICE powered cars and that makes me sad as ICE cars have personality compared to EVs. I think I miss the sound more than anything. Btw very solid vid per usual Miles.

I'm generally a turbo fan, like the woosh more than the whine , I have a big turbo Cobalt SS which turbo lag isn't too bad, about 3599-3600 RPM and you better be pointed in the right direction OR know how to play with the throttle especially coming out of a corner in third, very fun car, and the sound it makes,.not like a ricer, not even close, a much deeper roar, violent when the boost kicks in. I didn't hear any whine from the Jag, I also love the body style of the F Type, rarely see them which makes it more cool when you do. The Jag sounds so good.

Jaguar neutered the exhaust sound In 2017 models. If you were able to get your hands on 2013-2016 the pops and burbles are INSANE. I purchased a 2016 V8 R AWD and removed the stock airboxes and put large cone performance intakes. When the car revs around 3,000 rpm it sounds like Ferrari. This version also has the upgraded meridian surround sound that 770W and comes with a TV tuner and DVD player stock. You could go to velocity AP and purchase the supercharger pulley and tune to get the exhaust notes from the 2012-2016 models but its going to run you almost 5 grand.

Excellent video! I would have gone with the Mercedes convertible any day! What a cool channel this is. I just subscribed. The Mercedes SL line is my favourite range of all cars on the Planet. I waited until I was aged 55 to have my SLK. I have had it 4 years (I'm now 59). Its a super charged Mercedes SLK R171 (The SLR lookalike model in obsidian black), its one of my daily drives. It's quick, highly reliable , holds the road like a sucker on a plate glass window, looks like new and is 18 years old on a 2006 plate. I love the long bonnet, sheer elegance and the vario auto convertible roof. The SL range simply does it for me above other roadsters or most exotics, even though the SL family may not be to everybody's taste. For me, it's an iconic classic, stylish sports car on a very sensible budget (well under £10k sterling - UK). 😁

@scoops0406 When I buy a sportscar, I do look at all costs associated with ownership. However if every cost segment that I have no control over is very high, then I will pick a vehicle that fits my budget. I change my own oil and filters, as well as sparkplug, diff and trans oil, etc. But fuel costs cannot be reduced much, so if I can get an excellent sportscar that averages 20+ mpg vs. 12 mpg (and is not as dyi-friendly), I'd be more likely to buy the former. There are many owners out there who feel the same, especially those who represent middle to upper-middle class or who are living on a fixed income (retired).

And yes I put my money where my mouth is, so don't blame me if manufacturers kill off the few remaining options to row your own gears. The last two cars I bought- available only with a six speed manual. Jaguar and Mercedes, not to mention Ferrari, Lamborghini, Corvette etc. have lost the enthusiast plot. Pity. So we get heavier, less involving cars needing more power to compensate. Sonewhere between a spartan Lotus Elise and a sumptious Bentley Flying Spur is the sweet spot of engagement and livability. For 4 door, then you really can't get more 'sleeper' than the Jaguar XFR, also 502 bhp and 5L supercharged V8. In the UK for example, I found 5 XFRs with less than 45k miles, at max £25k or about $30k. One had less than 20k miles. awesome car, for a time before the facelift it was one of the best sounding in the world. Unfortunately, even the facelift looks like it's from 2014, inside and out. I just couldnt even consider buying one new. I would totally look into a used one though if youre looking for a nice weekend ride.

I have a V6 2014 FType Spyder. Totally love it. Looking forward to getting a used P450. Great review.

What's not to like? Sitting in it, it just doesn't feel right. Like one of those cars where you're definitely going to have buyer's regret.
