I lived in Alaska and worked for a flying service throughout the 90's and thats exactly how the north country works. This TV series is sooo dang good, superior to anything currently on TV.

Tyler, a young kid, made himself look significantly better than fully matured Joe McBryan by saying "thank you" and seeking a handshake from Joe.... Joe responded by keeping his hands in his pockets and telling him he hopes he doesn't hurt himself. Wow

I think if you want to do that on a commercial aircraft you sort of can't. Mickey talked about it on his yt channel. They can't even use retired C-130 Hercules. There are turbine DC-3s, but I think C-46 is a better size. It's not worth the money to certify one aircraft. Buffalo flies the last c-46. ATRs Dash-7s Dash-8s L-100 hercs 737 probably what's going to do the job.

As tough as it can be to go from high up in the food chain down to the lower or the entry level, personally I think that it's good! You want to be the guy that can go anywhere in the company and be able to do the job. From top to bottom, bottom to top! That makes you valuable and gives you job security, plus it makes your day to day tasks much easier because you understand what and why things are being done the way that they are. That's just my opinion anyway 😁

Very bad using of resources having the Aussie sent to Hay River to become a mindless rampy. Think of the resumes Buffalo gets. Do any of them have a guy with 3000 hours real flying? Mikey and the rest of the office are out of touch with recruiting.
@thegreatdominion949 Жыл бұрын
He shouldn't expect any special treatment. He may have over 2000 hours in his log book, but that doesn't qualify him to be anything but a rookie pilot here. By his own admission, Buffalo's aircraft and the conditions in the Canadian North are in a completely different category from anything he has handled before. He'll have to earn his way off the ramp, and rightly so.
@MiturBinEsderty Жыл бұрын
This is why they can’t keep pilots. They put a professional pilot who Mikey says is “pretending pilot” on the ramp like a pilot with 100 hours a disgrace that is a slap in the face. Plus old planes carrying their capacity is a recipe to become a black spot in the snow

@athommen12 жыл бұрын
Good question 😂 Isn't always the same truck ?
@NotFound-lt9jq2 жыл бұрын
It’s not just Canada, but Alaska too & anywhere in the Arctic, because we put large amounts of sand & gravel on the roads during the winter for added traction, the gravel gets kicked up by vehicle tires & crack the windshields of the vehicles behind them. Another cause is putting the heater on defrost right when you start the vehicle & the windshield is frozen can make them crack horizontally across the windshield right where the defroster blows.
@Northern_Farmer2 жыл бұрын
Yes...and it's not just rocks....it's the extreme cold contracting the glass..and then when it warms up
@georgegonzalez24762 жыл бұрын
@@NotFound-lt9jq Ah yes, I recall a co-worker went to visit his parents in Montana and learned that they didn't have fine glacial gravel for the roads, so the larger rocks would often get kicked up and crack windows.
