The Bulky Waste Show Part 1

So Republic Services Recently got new rear loaders for bulky waste in Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova and Elk Grove. These trucks are longer, CNG powered, and are on Peterbilt 520's. This series is filmed in Citrus Heights, CA.
I know I already have a bulky waste series going called Neighborhood Clean Up, but these videos are of a cool driver, Todd. Todd got with this crew a while back and as his request, I'm starting a new Bulky Waste series just for him. The title of these series was his idea as well.
For a while I didn't film bulky waste since I had plenty. I went out a few months ago to say hi to the crew, and after talking with Todd I realized filming bulky is fun. The whole crew is friendly and good friends of mine. Plus Bulky is fun! It's not like side load when its the same thing every day. Bulky is an adventure. Something new to see every day. And living in Citrus heights, routes aren't far from me.
You may wonder why they are packing tires, washers, dryers, e waste, and other metals. They only dump at a C&D recovery facility. There, they sort through what they dump off and pull out all that and more recyclable material like tree trimmings, wood, cardboard, plastics, etc.

First off love the videos great to see them. One thing I have realized while watching literally hundreds of videos like this what a wasteful Society of the United States has turned into just look at how many items could have been recycled... The metal alone is staggering not to mention all the cardboard. I guess it's just modern society.

Fantastic! Todd (Is he the guy with the ponytail?) is an awesome driver and was moving at a crazy fast pace. I was a little surprised to see the tires packed, but it is nice to know so much will be recycled! All bulky waste pickups should do that IMO. All the scrap left out must be a result of the current market, which is not doing so hot. The combination of the tink claw smashing shit and little pieces shooting out of the hopper, as well as the hand tossing, turned out for a great video. Can't wait to see more!

Real cool system they use, down by me they hand toss everything. I was talking to a driver and he said he would prefer the cleanup routes, but the residents prefer calling on whenever they need an item collected. Do they offer on call bulk waste pickup?
