It'd kinda just like another book I read where the police only started working on cases when they though the bully victim was fighting back, basically admitting out loud that while they never cared to get the bullies in jail, they definitely wanted to catch the victim fighting back. This happens in 3 different books I've read... I absolutely hate it. They only decided to do their job once the crime was done.

She has proof that Dogi was doing anything wrong, keeps getting into business she shouldn't be, keeps getting into business that could mess up the good they are doing. ​​​Unfortunately in SK, it's worse irl. And it's not limited to schools. Colleges, workplaces and even friggin apartment complexes have bullies of all ages & sizes. Their bullying is ruthless, authorities are lazy, and their laws are weak. I mean, the evil cho do soon who graped an 8yo in church, till her intestines were out, got 12 years. And after release he continued to get police protection, CCTV installed to his home via tax payer's money, he *lives with his wife* (who sl*tshamed the 8yo for "seducing" her husband btw) and his home has two kintergardens nearby. All that when he's a repeat offender who had previously graped a 19yo and k-lled an older person, both for which he got a slap on the wrist. While the 8yo's father was told they won't recieve any government aid or security since the culprit had completed his term. And they had to go in hiding. Guess what, he's going around committing crimes even today, like drinking & fighting. That's how trash their legal system is. I don't even expect the bare minimum from their adults and law enforcement agencies in wanting to protect the weak / helpless people. It's their culture to protect the culprits and continue to harass the victim @@afib4968

This series reminds me of a series I watched called dog hounds (in South Korea it means people who collect loans through excessive violence.) It’s on Netflix and the main character is the police officer from Squid Game. That series has one of the best hand to hand combat I have seen. Especially the half mark when the protagonist has to team up to beat a huge boss. The story is so good I was hooked from the start. I love how Asian shows don’t pull the punches to show the evils of this world. They literally show everything to a point you find yourself really seeing the evil side of humanity. Then the resolution is often very good and ties up everything together at the end. I love how they show differences between people physically, gender differences and how we complement each other. (A little spoiler) in dog hounds the protagonist is a professional boxer but his physique is still lean and his partner is also lean. They end up fighting a guy who physically is monstrous like 6 feet tall and a body like a sumo fighter, they had to really struggle to put him down and at the end of the fight (10min fight) they still only managed to bruise him but they ended up getting hospitalized with broken ribs and bruises that took them time to heal. Then they had to go through a whole training arc to build muscle which was supposed to help them overcome him the next time they faced him. See such realistic but fictional fights make the ending that much worth it. There’s no doubt that even Asia media is generic, the thing is they have maintained storyline over identity. That’s why they have good media now. This series reminds me of the older series from Hollywood the likes of Leverage, Human Target, MacGaiver, Persons of Interest, Scorpion, etc. a group of rogue people taking the law into their own hands to fix injustices in the world helping those who can’t help themselves. Hollywood lost its charm because of ideology over good storytelling. But these are not new ideas. In fact this series is following Human Target beat for beat.
