it is a bloody addiction isn't it!! it's like a drug tough being collectors! I am out of storage room just about so I have no idea where to get more storage space or what to buy frustrating look what damm Premont are doing making us double dip by saying 'oh hang on now we will release 4k versions in ultra HD after you just bought the blu rays'

Yeah, my main concern is double dipping which can be fun for new versions of films I already have but it narrows how many more films I can get, both from a storage point of view and a budgeting point of view

Have you tried ordering some more space off Amazon, that should solve your problem

@@singin8324 yeah have not really found anything I’ve liked for storage yet. More about quantity not quality for space with this I need something for my tv show box sets and my other bookshelf is now full.

Collect only your FAVORITE films/shows. And who cares if it's Blu ray or 4k or even a DVD. The point is to have your favorites on hand. Quality over quantity.

Physical Media is great but yes buying multiple versions of a film whether on purpose or accident is my problem too. Sometimes its about the packaging presentation etc... The worst thing I do is upgrade a movie to 4k but have 3 copies on different boutique labels. I still have dvds that have bonus features that the newer versions don't.

Back in the DVDs and early Blu-ray days, I was buying multiple copies and I was obsessive over it. Now, I see multiple copies as a waste of space (and space is a premium for us, right? lol) I went crazy trying to have the "best" version of a movie and the sad feeling of feeling left out, when I see others getting the newer edition, but I had to nip that in the bud quick. This is still a relatively cheap hobby, but it can get expensive and honestly, I'm just tired of buying the same movies over and over. I look at myself like I'm crazy when I bought three copies of {insert movie} on DVD, then they released it three times on Blu-ray, and then 4K UHD comes out. Blu-ray is my final stop on A LOT of films. I sold almost all of my extra copies of things and I just try to maintain the mindset of being grateful for what I have. I can't break myself trying to keep up with the Joneses. Great discussion. I love seeing videos like this.

Hi I know what you mean and yes sometimes Collecting Physical Media can be a Burden i am a Big John Carpenter Fan and The Thing is my All-Time Favorite and i must say i don't really like buying more copys of a Movie for my Collection but it's John Carpenter's The Thing so because of that i have two Copys of this Movie plus the Neca Figure in my Collection so i have the Physical Media on 4K UHD from Universal and the 4K Set from Arrow Video and that's enough if you ask me 😜👈 All i can say is buy the Movies your really love and it's ok too have more copys of your All-Time Favorite just like me. I'm a movie hoarder. I have been thinking about trying to reduce my collection but then it's like "oh I might watch that..." I think Vudu is easier to deal with than discs, but I wouldn't pay more than $7.99 for anything digital. It's lower quality and you don't really own it so they can take it away if they want to.

Collector, not hoarder (it isn’t a disgrace to collect art my friend). Embrace what you have, even if you don’t watch it again any time soon cause there’ll always be that one day and then it’ll be worth it

Maybe don’t click on something you think is negative then? Would probably help you in the future. If it helps, in the video I discuss how it’s annoying to have to constantly upgrade from one physical release to the next. It’s not a negative video, just a video where I am critical of the process of collecting a film, hence it being a burden. It’s the process of upgrading constantly is the burden, not physical media itself
