It's been a while since the last episode, but Lost in Time is back! Today we're exploring Walter Burley Griffin's proposal for a main line into the city centre, which was sadly scrapped for a variety of reasons. Remember to like and subscribe, and comment below if there's part of Canberra's railway history you'd like us to explore in a future video!

I'm so exited for the video on the Yass line! I've not looked at Canberra the same way after learning how many railways there would have been. And I feel like a railway would benefit a CAPITAL CITY so much but Canberra is a strange case.

Gosh, this is the first of your videos that i've listened to and for a minute i thought it was Jago Hazzard narrating. (Jago is a British train enthusiast with a similar accent.)

It is so ironic looking at how the NCA celebrates Griffin and modern Canberra but ignore how great our city could have been if we actually built it to specification. Oh how one imagines what this city would look like.

Great video as always! The Yass line sounds very interesting I’d love to see that. I’d like to see a video about the Canberra goods yard and maybe the oil trains that used to run there, especially with the 422s in the 90s.

The ironic thing is that the plan for light rail to go to the airport also includes moving the current station further away from the city!

It is a good thing that global circumstances will most like fix the issues with a better rail connection to Melbourne and Sydney

What happened to the monorail system planned for the ACT and the carriages that we're stored at Kingston !
