ET Paul: so-so music as far as compositions go...and other hand, the cover artwork for most of his output was absolutely amazing. Excellent recordings of amazing automated instruments from another age.

I enjoyed this! It was played at a little more sedate pace than some of the other videos, so you could really appreciate the sound of the different instruments. If you ever make a properly miked professional recording of the entire library of rolls that you have, I'd be first in line to buy it. Thanks!

I believe this is the intended speed, with the main theme at about 132bpm. I'll dig out my old sheet music from the 1960s and see what it says.

I'd say it's from Emperor Nero's perspective. ;)

From what I have read of Nero, he would have loved to have a Fotoplayer... As it was, he only had a lyre at the time, to accompany his song about the burning of Troy...

this machine is amazing! what do the 5 piston things on the crankshaft do?
@arburo19 жыл бұрын
They are five bellows that drive the crankshaft which in turn powers the roll over the tracker bar. Each bellows has a slide valve to connect it either to suction or atmosphere It's simply a vacuum powered motor. The speed of the roll is controlled by a gate valve that alters the amount of suction going through the motor. This type of suction motor is common to 99% of player pianos.

Are the principal pipes wood or metal?,it sounds just like it has a tibia rank when you play with the tremulant on.
