It's easy to talk like that when you aren't marginalized. Our country was literally built on the carcass of a white supremacist state, the issues inherent inside that system left the majority population of the country with zero wealth, education, infrastructure and so on. There's been little impetus to fix these problems and the lack of skills within our governance is very apparent. What is definitely an issue is the nationalism within all the political parties which all have interests aligned in protectionism and closed border policy. It's regressive and damages the economy by miniaturising the labour pool.
@JF-NG2 жыл бұрын
Siba & Kyle, I think you missing the point regarding non-racialism. Instead of focusing on how black people are we should be focusing on how poor people are. We need move away from superficial things like race that only divide and upset people and rather focus on the problems that we inherited from Apartheid. We should focus on poverty. So instead of focusing on what people look like and rather focusing on their actions we able to hold a government accountable for outcomes that affect the people that need help the most. When we focus on skin colour we have the most powerful elite able to create a system that they only benefit from because your basic measurements are only skin colour. What they do and say is not measured. When you focus on peoples actions you are able to recognise the effort of white people helping poor people just as much as black people helping poor people. When you focus on poverty without skin colour all effort can be praised and lack of action criticised equally. I have never heard a single white person say don't help the poor, don't build schools in poor communities, don't give out title deeds for people living on state land. Our problems we face are poverty and a government that is purposefully seeking to keep the poor, poor and dependant on the state. The EFF and ANC don't want the black majority to uplift themselves to a better life and future because then they will loose control of the black majority. Idi Amin, Robert Mugabe, Jean-Bédel Bokassa, Macias Nguema. African leaders have been using the same recipe book to exploit their people for decades. Often with violence but always with pointing finger at somebody else while they rob, cheat and steal. Its the British, Its the Americans, its the white people, its the foreigners, its the private sector, its the Indian's. All of this finger pointing based on some narrow stereotype always move the conversation away from the problem, and the problem is poverty, huge amounts of poverty. Why are we not talking about ways that we can incentivize some rich white house wife living in Cape Town or Sandton with a tax breaks when she pays for her domestics children to go a private school. The only way we can solve our biggest problems is by bringing people together, not by tearing them apart. When we focus on skin colour we drive people apart and move away form the problem. When we focus on poverty we bring people together and move closer to the problem.

It affects everybody down to the poorest of the poor. It is only politicians who rate racism as as a priority because it is a diversion from the extremely bad policies they are intent on pushing such as EWC and also BBBEE. Neither of these policies bring in investment and in fact chase away potential investors who bring jobs and training which we truly need. I watched the video now for the first time and I wonder how many people watched the whole 59 minutes before passing judgement. I think everyone was cordial, Gareth maybe a bit less because he was running the show. I think he dragged John a lot about what the DA has done wrong or not done when they should have. I think both party members gave each other plenty of space to speak which was great, we wouldn't have seen that if the EFF or ANC had've been there but it did get a bit heated and John looked like we all do when someone is fighting and you aren't involved and you don't know where to look with a nervous face or what to do with himself because there is nothing you can say in that situation. Gareth Cliff can be quite egotistical in his response but his underlying argument was correct its not about her feeling or racism. It's about service delivery and the lack of it that is what this election is about, we are all sick of dirty cities, potholes, street lights that don't work, police we are scared to call because we aren't sure if they will come or it will be more of a problem. ACTIONSA, all the way. The ANC we dont even go there. Tired of both the DAs lies to cover up its interesting backstories and false prospects. The DA doesn't realise that it doesnt possess the ability to develop South Africa, as we can see in the Western Cape they can only sustain previous development. That's on a national level, on a local Level the DA's candidates are useless career politicians. And the focus of the DA is on the middle and upper class and ignores the lower class citizen. A proper political party focuses on both socioeconomic groups. I can see ACTIONSA as this party. Mr Steenhuisen has also cost his party great loss as he has lost a serious aspect that SAs voters look for, the representation of color in the higher echelons of the DA. He also ignores that ACTIONSAs clear focus is to unseat the ANC, the mere fact that Steenhuisen had to bring ACTIONSA up shows that ACTIONSA is of great concern to him and his party. As we can see in Johannesburg, ACTIONSA has a great chance of overpowering the DA. Clearly not as an opposition to the DA but the greater concern, the tyrannical ANC. As for OneSA, independent candidates may create small changes in local government elections, not large but small, as we heard they only have around 250 Candidates nationwide in all wards, Durban Alone has 300 wards. Also independent Candidate systems cannot change South Africa nationally. Voters majoritarially also tend not to lean towards independent Candidates. If a candidate is independent they have their own views and no accountability, therefore if they have to be inline with OneSAs views they are no longer independent. So after all this consideration, I place my underage trust upon ACTIONSA.

You should have asked John what the DA's stance is on the brutal, unprovoked attacks by police on citizens of Cape Town in Sea Point. Rumour has it that the rich residents in Sea Point do not want their white privileged peace disrupted by peaceful protests and so instructed the DA to get the police in full riot gear to attack defenceless women, children, old ladies and men with their batons and shields. They were also instructed to remove their name and number badges so they could not be identified. The attacks seemed to be targeting members of the ORGANIC HUMANITY MOVEMENT and a policeman actually broke his shield on the founder of the party and her husband was badly beaten up. Another policeman attacked a middle aged lady from behind severely injuring her back and she is presently in a wheelchair. The media was also instructed to stay away even though they were aware of the gathering and covered the two previous protests in the same area. Figure it out for yourself Gareth

It's not cadre deployment because he is a demonstrated leader. He wasn't assigned to his role through nepotism, but rather based on the merit of experience. The fact that he doesn't have a degree is unfortunate, but it's not a necessity.. At least the man finished highschool with decent marks, and attempted to get a degree (he stopped due to financial difficulties and needing to focus on work instead- a degree eventually became unnecessary). Show me a white member of DA that ever wear a DA t-shirt with Mmusi Maimane's face. At some point DA was in disagreement with a motion that was raised in parliament, it's leader Mmusi at the time walked out, the rest of the MPs remained, when John decided to walk out too at a later stage, all the other MPs followed him. When khayelitsha informal settlement residents protested for service delivery, Helen Zille said there were no people there according to her, only trees and sand, but when it comes to elections, she went there a lot even carry snotty kids. When Zille finally decided to build toilets for khayelitsha residents, she only installed unsheltered toilet ports to dehumanize them. All these little things in between are a clear example of DA character. They can't even hide it, now John doesn't call Mudzuli by name, his little intellect can't even allow him to be civil. Now you think the majority of South Africans can vote for racism. Never, they can only defend the second spot from EFF. In DA's policy document racism doesn't no longer exist in South Africa, therefore it's not catered for. Vote for all but not DA it will be worse than ANC. They go around saying they get things done, go to Cape Town townships and see for yourself if DA gets things done. Service delivery ends by the suburbs in the City of Cape Town. Poor people leave in filthy and crime ridden areas. I have said enough about Gareth, the only word that follows him around is racism, that's his passion. I admire Freedom Front Plus and Afri-Forum, they are not fake, they are for white people, unlike DA sitting on the fence hoping to gain black people's majority votes so they can unleashed the devil in full swing.

Mudzuli Rakhivhane; you are a great principled young woman. Big up to you for standing up to; two white entitled males; Gareth Cliff and John Steenhuisen in this video clip. Someone may just think that your being boxed between them in this video clip is inconsequential. It is not. It is meant to tell you that young woman; we ( Gareth Cliff and John Steenhuisen) know best; what is of paramount importance for the people of South Africa. Don’t tell us about racism. It is ‘neither here nor there for us’. That is the message they are not only driving into your head but mine; also. I get this message from Gareth and John loud and clear. That The Constitution of the Republic of South Africa; 1996; the supreme law of our land; in Chapter Two titled the ‘ Bill of Rights’ which is entrenched by the way; if you get my drift; states categorically that ‘ Every citizen has the right to enter; to remain in and to reside anywhere in; the Republic’; in this video clip; the entitled duo; Gareth and John; care less about. Gareth and John believe that they are well equipped to tell Mudzuli Rakhivhane and me; that ‘ our personal lived experience is completely anecdotal and unimportant ‘. I am least shocked by these sort of utterances. I was born at the time when the Apartheid White Minority Government in South Africa dictated to us black people where to live; what to eat and what sort of education system was ‘ excellent ‘ for a black child. It took the bravery of us; the then youth of the Soweto Class of 1976; to dismantle the ‘ Bantu Education System ‘ which they themselves without consulting our parents; designed for us; black students then ‘. The purpose of the Bantu Education system was to domesticate a black child. Our geography syllabus at the time had nothing to do with learning geography scientifically. We had to learn; as students; in Soweto; all the names of the railway stations from Vereeniging in Sedibeng to Park Station in the City of Johannesburg ( CoJ ). When the then inspector of Bantu Education system visited Soweto schools; a de Beer if my memory serves me well; we all had to be ready to vomit; by heart; to him in class; the names of railway station after station from Vereeniging to Park Station. Inspector de Beer knew then; what was ‘ important’ for a black child to learn in the same way as today; in our democratic South Africa; where Gareth Cliff and John Steenhuisen; have a nerve to tell Mudzuli and me ‘ what is important’. Perhaps one day when you ( Mudzuli ‘ have time; you will educate Gareth and John about what our Constitution which; we all adopted in 1996 enjoins them to know how to live and behave. We are all equal in terms of our Constitution. Women ( black and white ) are so defined as part of the most vulnerable members of society by the world body; the United Nations ( UN ). Shame on you Gareth and John for attempting to box young Mudzuli. She showed you that she is not a pushover. Gareth; if you didn’t interrupt her at every turn; the young black Mudzuli would have educated you properly about our Constitution in particular; Chapter 2 Bill of Rights. Adv MS Muofhe

Is the guy on the left a moderator or a debator? He’s Rude and biased AF I understand why those he claims didn’t want to come to his show chose not to! Stay away from interviewing politicians if you yourself is a “ politician “ hiding behind a podcast mic.
