It's not "don't have this fight", I'm pretty sure it's "your heart is mine" It's also "how bad can it be", not "how bad can it beat"

@@QuackerMusic Just variations. For the beat line, I used to think it was “how bad can it be?” (As it makes the most sense) but there’s very clearly an extra unknown syllable at the end. Very possible it could be accent or just slurred words. There are no “correct” verses, not until the band behind this song come forward and confirm the lyrics.

With Red Hot Chili Peppers, and specifically in the funk metal days of Incubus (S.C.I.E.N.C.E), good luck trying to decipher what they're saying without reading the lyrics. It's just kinda a thing that evolved out of SoCal and 90s irony together.

Haha little fun fact about the guys I drew on the cover; I originally intended to make an animation with this song when it was lostwave to promote it since it’s search wasn’t as large as hoped. I made a little character to represent how majority of bands don’t make it, regardless of skill or talent, and how it affects their entire “big dream” and mentality and so on.. the guys on the cover aren’t two seperate people. They’re the same person! One presenting older, the other in their youth : ) Just a funny coincidence he happens to look similar i suppose.
