The coastal town of Busselton, located 230KM south of Perth, Western Australia, has a rather unique train: The Stocker Preston Express. It is a solar powered train, using electric motors powered by a Lithium battery bank, and charged from solar panels on each carriage's roof. It operates a 1.7Km line laid on the Busselton, 1.8Km long, jetty, as far as the Underwater Observatory. The normal consist is the locomotive and five carriages. It is well worth watching how the locomotive runs around the train at each end.
