I always thought this. Hilda acts and looks like she is an adult woman, but she goes to school with the other kids and lives alone. That's how Hilda was my favorite character when i was a child :D

In a way, Billy Dog reminds me of Binky Barnes, in that they're both bulldogs that go to elementary school and appear tough. Not to mention how Cookie Jar Entertainment produced both "The Busy World of Richard Scarry" and "Arthur." The main difference is Billy Dog was always a good guy but fell to the usual bully animal stereotype, yet Binky really is a bully (though he has greatly softened up over the years.) Additionally, Billy Dog is introduced as a new student in Miss Honey's class, while Binky is being held back in Mr. Ratburn's class and thus was older than the rest of the kids in the class.
