Or that OTHER TIME a member of his cabinet successfully negotiated an alliance between Israel and several Arab states so they can effectively defend themselves against the regional bully known as Iran, something previously thought impossible, and got subbed of ANOTHER Nobel Peace Prize for his trouble as the media dismissed and ignored it all. And the first 3 years of his mandate when the economy was booming and salaries were on the rise among the working poor for the first time in over a decade in part thanks to his tax cuts and people accused him of selling out to the rich, or the whole year of Covid when he had ample excuses to abuse his federal authority in the name of public safety but DIDN'T do so and was called a tyrant for it, or that time he fought so that black people could be allowed into nicer schools if they wanted to and his opponents blocked him and called him racist for daring to give minorities the freedom to choose. Or that time during this election cycle when he made amazing gains in just about every ethnic group in America except white males and was called a misogynist and a white supremacist for his trouble... Yeah, you get the idea. I'm not a Trump fanatic, lots of things about him I didn't like, but I'm honest enough to concede where and when he did good and call BS when the Establishment tries to gaslight me into thinking he was Hitler Reborn. He wasn't. He was a flawed incredibly petulant and impulsive man-child of a president who had a formidable knack for saying stupid crap that got him in trouble, I would even go as far as to say he's a disrespectful asshole to women given the way he talks about them when he thinks nobody's around to record him (referencing the "grab by the pussy" leaked comment here mostly.), but even so he was by far the best president America got in my lifetime, and that just goes to show how AWFUL the Establishment Swamp actually is, how little they care about solving actual problems and how much we need another populist who can cut through the propaganda and unite both halves of America against the Swamp. I know conservatives and liberal disagree of A LOT of stuff, but having frequented people from both of their respective bubbles for a while now, I know EVERYONE has had ENOUGH of the corrupt self-serving Establishment. In 2016, conservatives elected Trump and for 4 years they got a president that actually got some things done for the people. They actually LIKED him! LOVED HIM! All the way to the end. They love him still. Do you have any idea how rare that is in politics? My guess is Bernie Sanders would probably have the same effect on the Left if they ever managed to get him through, but he's getting a bit old to run for president. Sadly, I can't think of anybody else on the Left who's got the integrity and popularity of Sanders, and the Establishment Dems will keep blocking his nomination in primaries until the end of his life anyway. Big sad on that one. I would much prefer Sanders to any Establishment Democrat even though I fucking hate taxes and Bernie wants more of those. But really what I want most is the likeable and more competent version of Trump that can get things done, curb more establishment people and possibly forge some much needed common ground between liberals and conservatives.
