Anthony McRae These beautiful ladies are well-known in the Bay Area (Christian community) and are referred to as the Byrd sisters (Lisa, Lena and Lauren). They all have wonderful voices but you hear of Lena, eldest sister of 3 (singing in the middle) more.

The real question here is, simply would God be praised or are you being praised please note I'm not condemning the woman only her dress style you said she had a nude top on well to say that you have already stated naked in colour. Now look before one goes out the house one need to ask them self is this pleasing to God or am I trying to be sexie? Will it distract those I'm ministering will I expose myself showing my nude top under my blouse?? Look I will not be responding to this again for as a woman of God you have a consience which is put there by God and it question right from wrong as a acting guide to ones behaviour. 1. Does my clothing illustrate my surrender to the Lord and my commitment to holiness? (Romans 12:1; Titus 2:11-12; 1 Timothy 2:10) This doesn’t mean a “plain” person is more surrendered or a “fancy dresser” isn’t. But God sees the heart. He knows. Addressing women in particular, Paul said believers should adorn themselves with purity, in a way fitting them to worship God with honor and reverence. 2. Have I focused on my heart, or only my wardrobe? (1 Samuel 16:7; Proverbs 31:30) We must distinguish between the world’s evaluation of charm and beauty and the true loveliness of inward character. Cultivating godliness should be our priority. 3. Am I making clothing choices consistent with transformed thinking? (Romans 12:2) One sign of change by the Holy Spirit is self-control. We learn to master our appetites and impulses (Romans 6:12-13). It’s a wise choice to define our wardrobe choices by freedom in Christ rather than seeking conformity to the world and becoming a slave to the whims of fashion. Also, Christ-followers are made for good works (Ephesians 2:10; Titus 2:14) and should dress in ways-attractively and functionally-to enable greater service to others. 4. Do I live with contentment regarding clothing purchases? (Matthew 6:28-30) The Lord will provide for our needs, but not all of our wants. If we are preoccupied with our wardrobes and getting more, we may be missing opportunities to meet others’ needs. 5. Am I practicing modesty and discretion in what I wear? (1 Peter 5:5b) Modesty is not anti-fashion; it’s pro-adornment in godly ways (1 Timothy 2:8). Believers should adorn themselves in a discrete, seemly way (Proverbs 7:10). Cultural discretion is a key component. Just as Paul acknowledged what was communicated by the Greco-Roman culture and warned early Christians not to follow these fashion patterns of his time, we must be aware of the messages and values clothing might communicate in our own culture. 6. Do I dress with dignity and strength? (Proverbs 31:25a) Our lives should be adorned with a demeanor of reverence toward God and respectability-showing dignity and respect for ourselves as well as others. 7. Are my clothing choices bringing glory to God? (1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 10:31) We are not our own. Our choices should reflect Christ’s Lordship in our lives and our desire to honor Him.

Peter Beckford it’s really not that deep smh they prob just out and about not even at church and the top is actually very appropriate but you see a lil piece and goes right to judging and condemning like I didnt even recognised her shirt until this comment cuz her voice took over the entire video ...how about shutup and enjoy her gift from God ❤️
@peterbeckford36 жыл бұрын
Thanks for pointing this out to me but I still stand by what I wrote and to add I do believe the dress distraction also go's for the brothers also. That fact is this, we don't want to be dressing frumpy and more over; out of date, but as ambassadors we will be seen at all time, so we must represent Christ and his Kingdom at its best everyday.

Holy Ghost Enforcers, here y'all go, lol. Who's 'distracted' and who's DISTRACTING, again, lol? Let's BE mature and SEE righteously, then we won't miss the BLESSING that lay before us, umkaay? To be fair, I was deeply DISTRACTED by the irrepressible three-part harmony the Byrd Sisters were slapping upside my head, lol. For any other creative thinkers, optical illusion theorists, you've lost me, lol. Thanks so very much for posting.

Just need to dress with her top properly fitted to her body it's exposing too much and distracted me, Mattie Moss Clark always say women singing gospel must dress sanctified not to distract others from what they are doing for God.

Overall, I wholeheartedly agree with Peter Beckford who also gave scripture to support his reasoning however, for those of us who know Lena, know that she's pretty humble and dresses decently especially being that she's in the public eye and before God's people. While she didn't allow it to affect her singing, you could tell she was pretty uncomfortable as she consistently tugged at her clothing...
@HeReigns36 жыл бұрын
My pastor used to tell us ladies, '(when the Spirit of the Lord is moving) you don't want to be caught wearing anything that would prohibit the move of the Holy Ghost!' You have need to be ready 'in season and out of season' - for you never know when you may be called upon to minister before the Lord and before His people. I think my sister may have been just a little caught off guard. Please pardon her and don't count this particular instance against her :)

This is the girl who “distracted you” sorry that my NUDE DRESS underneath my colorful blazer distracted you lolol smh 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ what I’m actually tugging at is my wrap/scarf because Alexis asked us to sing as we were exiting the church, and I had just wrapped my scarf around my neck. Please know that I WAS NOT EXPOSED and never will I ever be - I have goooood sense!!!
