Little known fact. Gene Parsons was the studio drummer on the original gospel recording of this song by The Art Reynolds Singers in 1966. Gene asked Art, who wrote the song, if he could use it with The Byrds. Art supposedly replied "Spread the Good Word brother".

At the very beginning of this video, there is about 1-2 seconds of a man at the microphone, That is a man I used to work for doing concert security from 1987-1993...Legendary concert promoter Bill Graham. He and two others were killed in a helicopter crash in October 1991 when they slammed into a high tension electric tower on a stormy night. Bill Graham, you are sincerely missed. RIP!

Originally done by the Art Reynolds Gospel Singers in 1966. So finely covered here by the Birds. Then refined and became a rock classic by the Doobie Brothers in 1972. Love all versions, it be all about our savior. Tag the Vet. RVN 11 Bravo 1969.

"REFINED" by the Doobies??? Copied from the BYRDS version. N They even copied the intro from the Byrds' live version. The Doobies version would have never existed if The Byrds didn't record it and have a West Coast hit with it.

Great tight sound..tighter live than the Dave Crosby line up..Crosby did the masterfull studio records with the Byrds but limitations of equipment and prob screaming fans made them a bit shakey,,..I always think Clarence White wouldn't have agreed to be in a band unless they were cutting it live

In a 1990 Soundgarden show in Germany (look for it on KZbin-a mind-blowing display of Cornell’s vocal range) Chris opens the song Beyond the Wheel screaming “Jesus…is my friend…Jesus…is my friend…Jesus…” It didn’t occur to me until recently that he was paying homage to the Doobie Brothers cover of this song. The Doobie Brothers version includes an additional down tempo verse in the middle of the song where they sing “Jesus…he’s my friend…He took me by the hand…”

@@bigswingface5847 I looked up the song on Wikipedia. It is written as a gospel song. Written by Arthur Reid Reynolds. The song's title makes use of the American slang term "all-right", which during the 1960s was used to describe something that was considered 'cool' or very good. In other words, “Jesus is very good with me”. Or “Jesus is totally cool with me”. When you hear the song that way it changes everything. Spread the “Word” brother…✨

The Vernal Equinox of 2030, marks the beginning of the 3rd, 1000-year Days of Heaven, since Jesus taught us all men are brothers, love one another, and be perfect -- and was then crucified in 30 AD. 2 Peter 3: 8, Matthew 5: 44-48. It brings the fulfilment of the resurrection, as Jesus, Himself, explains -- John 16: 7-15 -- when the Spirit of TRUTH, not Jesus in the flesh, comes to all who will receive him . . . and final judgement for the devil and dragon -- Daniel 7: 9-14. 09/23/26 is exactly 3.5 years sooner. It's the autumn equinox of the US' and the illuminati's 250th year (1776-2026). 10/12/26 is 42 moons sooner. There will be an Epochal Eclipse a CROSS America on April 8th 2024, when MORE shall be revealed to those with "eyes and ears." the rest will see only an eclipse. Matthew 16: 4 Jonah 3: 4-5, 8 Jonah 4: 11 Exercise faith to get in shape for the Awakening. Matthew 16: 17-18. Revelation 3: 6-12.
