I'm watching, praising "this is it's done" everything painted, new parts and the came the rusty nuts and bolts. With a blast cabinet in the background. I know how you feel after months spent just to get to start prepping, before assembly. Major props to you, you showed it on video, picking your battles.

We all need to subscribe to this channel to help him keep it all going, it is free to us. Gold accent colors are a classic old race car theme. I guess he had the chassis blasted or dipped and power-coated. These C-3 Corvettes are a great choice for a frame-off build for a vintage race car or a street rod.

Thanks, still have a long way to go! This was my first time digging this deep into a project but I will say that I know every bolt on this whole car now lol. Should make me more comfortable beating the hell out of it when it's finally running!

You ever notice those of us that take on a challenge like this in our garage usually have to build it by ourselves. Alone with our car. A little touch up paint on the diff no one will notice.
@WTFPerformanceShow Жыл бұрын
Oh yea, I don't mind at all personally. I love having a TV with KZbin in the garage so I can put on some car content and plug away at whatever I'm working on. It's also fun to just scream at those stubborn bolts like the kids dad in "A Christmas Story" with no one else around LOL

I have a white on red 80, I’m thinking about doing a frame off. Your video is great for seeing it go from bare to assembled. Mine will be semi gloss black however. I’m a little concerned with the anti gas car movement though. I’m afraid my car will be banned or taxed beyond sight after spending time and money on a restoration.

very nice job. always tought about changing the crossmembers with some custom aluminum ones for weight savings, just get a weld on a steel bracket and have the crossmembers fittes with flanges and bolt them on

nice job so far, I'm surprised you didn't upgrade or replace the old, rusted bolts? considering all the work on the frame

This was very enjoyable to watch, the progress you captured along with the music was seriously satisfying. I’m putting in an early offer to buy this corvette when you are finished restoring it. After you are satisfied owning and enjoying it and if you consider selling it I’ll offer 40k. I want to own and proudly display the first full restoration done by WTF Performance. I have a feeling it’s the first of many more.

@@WTFPerformanceShow Have any suggestions for bushing kits, etc?
@WTFPerformanceShow2 жыл бұрын
I replaced all the tired rubber with prothane polyurethane bushings. They are a little sticky and messy to install but I like the idea that they will last forever. Poly does get REALLY squeaky when they go dry so that's a bummer. Can't tell you if recommend them till I drive the car but 98% of the complete bushing kit fit perfect.

@@WTFPerformanceShow Good point on the urethane. Thanks for the advice.

Fantastic job an it was really great to watch. HOWEVER, the way you handled these springs was very dangerous and shouldn’t be replicated (especially when you supported the lower arm by your knee while the compressed spring was between the A arms). I am not saying this to criticise but to make people aware. I have had a loaded spring just slightly discharged by approx 5mm during the compression and my fingers were numb for a week! I found that it is much safer to use the single spring compression tool which goes where the shock is. Sorry about this but replacing the springs is probably the most dangerous job there is on these cars. Enjoy your cars but stay safe guys.

Sadly soon all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime....(
